Summary

This Mercedes Benz E63 AMG S is the definitive high-performance executive sedan for the GCC, blending supercar-level acceleration with the everyday usability required for regional commutes. With its hand-built V8 engine and sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, it offers a level of mechanical exclusivity that few rivals can match. This specific listing is a strong choice because it is a genuine GCC spec vehicle, ensuring the cooling systems and electronics are fully optimized for the extreme local climate. The Black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and wider GCC market, helping to maintain its desirability and resale appeal. While the mileage reflects a car that has been enjoyed on the region's expansive highway networks, its comprehensive engineering means it remains a powerhouse for the long-distance drives typical of the UAE. For those seeking the S trim's additional power and prestige, this car stands out as a well-maintained example of Mercedes-AMG’s technical peak. Ownership of such a vehicle in the GCC is a statement of both performance and status, backed by the brand's extensive service network across all major cities.

This Car vs Other 2018 E63 AMGs

When comparing this 2018 model to others on the market, the primary factor to consider is its GCC specification. Unlike American or European imports often found in the UAE, this vehicle was built to withstand 50°C summers with upgraded cooling and regional-specific software. Its mileage of 141,550 km is slightly above the typical 20,000 km per year average but reflects consistent highway use between Emirates, which is often easier on the engine and transmission than stop-start city driving in dense traffic. The Black exterior is a massive advantage for resale value in the GCC, as it remains the most popular choice for luxury performance sedans. Most 2018 models in the secondary market may lack the rigorous maintenance history that a GCC-delivered car typically enjoys through authorized service centers. Choosing this specific car means prioritizing mechanical transparency and regional suitability over lower-mileage imports that may hide checkered histories.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim is a significant leap forward from the standard E63 AMG, offering a higher state of tune for the 4.0L biturbo V8 that reaches a staggering 612 hp. Beyond just the raw power, the S trim adds the advanced AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system with a dedicated 'Drift Mode,' a feature highly coveted by enthusiasts in the GCC. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with Nappa leather and an IWC analogue clock, providing a level of interior luxury that matches its performance. You also benefit from larger composite brakes and dynamic engine mounts that adjust their stiffness based on driving conditions, providing better stability during high-speed highway cruising. This trim also includes the electronic rear-axle limited-slip differential as standard, which greatly improves traction when accelerating out of corners. For a GCC buyer, the S trim is the only logical choice to ensure the vehicle retains the highest possible prestige and resale value compared to the base variants.

E63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The Mercedes Benz E63 AMG S primarily competes with the BMW M5 and the Audi RS6, yet it carves out its own niche through its aggressive character and superior interior tech. While its rivals are formidable, the AMG's hand-built engine philosophy provides a sense of craftsmanship that is highly valued in the GCC luxury market. Its 4.0L V8 is renowned for its torque delivery, making it exceptionally capable during high-speed overtakes on the E11 or E311 highways. The 4MATIC+ system provides a more rear-biased, engaging feel than the Audi, while the interior layout with the dual-screen MBUX-style cockpit feels more modern than many 2018-era competitors. Additionally, the Mercedes-AMG service network is one of the most robust in the region, ensuring that parts and expert technicians are available from Dubai to Muscat and beyond. For the buyer who wants a car that can transition from a professional executive transport to a track-ready monster, the E63 AMG S remains the segment leader.

Running Costs & Resale

Running a 612 hp sedan in the GCC is surprisingly manageable given the high quality of Super 98 fuel available across the region. Real-world fuel consumption typically sits around 12-14L/100km on long highway stretches, though city driving in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic will see that figure rise significantly. Service intervals are generally every 15,000 km or 12 months, and because this is a GCC spec car, it can be serviced at any authorized Mercedes-Benz facility across the Middle East. Depreciation for the E63 AMG S in the local market tends to stabilize after the five-year mark, making this 2018 model a smart buy as the steepest value drops have already occurred. Compared to its Italian or British rivals, the AMG holds its value much better due to the sheer demand for the brand in the UAE. You can expect a depreciation rate of approximately 12-15% annually, which is excellent for a high-performance luxury vehicle in this class.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is its ability to sprint from 0-100 km/h in a breathtaking 3.4 seconds, placing it in the top tier of performance cars globally. This acceleration is particularly useful for merging into fast-moving GCC highway traffic or safely overtaking on long desert roads. The nine-speed multi-clutch transmission provides lightning-fast gear changes, while the air suspension allows the driver to toggle between a comfortable executive ride and a stiff, track-focused setup. With a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (often raised to 300 km/h with the AMG Driver's Package), it is perfectly suited for the region's world-class road infrastructure. The All Wheel Drive system ensures that even during the rare rainy days or on dusty surfaces, the car maintains absolute composure and grip. Despite its sedan body, the engineering under the skin allows it to outperform dedicated sports cars while still carrying four passengers in total comfort.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the E63 AMG S is a sanctuary of high-tech luxury designed to combat the intense heat of the Middle East. The dual-zone or available four-zone climate control system is exceptionally powerful, capable of cooling the cabin in minutes even after the car has been parked in the sun. The multi-contour AMG performance seats provide excellent lateral support for spirited driving while remaining comfortable for three-hour drives across the Emirates. Standard on this trim is the premium Burmester Surround Sound system, which provides an immersive audio experience that rivals a home theater. The cabin is also exceptionally well-insulated, keeping the roar of the V8 at a refined hum during highway cruising and blocking out external wind noise. With a generous boot capacity and ample rear legroom, it serves as a practical family car just as well as it serves as a performance icon. The mix of carbon fiber trim and high-grade leather ensures every surface feels as premium as the price tag suggests.

Safety

Safety in the E63 AMG S is handled by a comprehensive suite of active and passive systems designed for high-speed environments. The car features advanced ADAS technology, including Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Assist, which are vital for navigating the multi-lane highways of the GCC where lane changes happen at speed. Adaptive cruise control makes long-distance travel significantly less fatiguing by maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. The car is also equipped with Pre-Safe technology, which can detect an impending collision and take measures like tightening seatbelts and closing windows to protect occupants. With a 5-Star safety heritage, the E63 AMG S provides peace of mind that matches its performance capabilities. The 360-degree camera system is particularly helpful in the region's tight parking structures, ensuring you can maneuver this large sedan without risking the beautiful alloy wheels.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec E63 AMG S is the perfect choice for the enthusiast who needs a daily-drivable executive sedan that can outrun almost anything else on the road. It represents an incredible value proposition for a buyer who appreciates the provenance of a hand-built AMG engine and wants the security of a regional-ready cooling system.
