Summary

This 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR is a rare find in the GCC market, combining the top-tier luxury trim with the highly efficient and torque-rich 4.5L V8 diesel engine. With just 68,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 120,000–150,000 km usually seen on 2018 models in this region. The white exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the UAE, ensuring strong value retention for the future. For the serious GCC buyer, this provides the perfect balance of legendary off-road hardware and premium cabin refinement for long-distance desert expeditions or family road trips. It represents a bulletproof investment in durability and comfort.

This Car vs Other 2018 Land Cruisers

While many 2018 Land Cruisers in the UAE have surpassed the 120,000 km mark, this example sits at a low 68,000 km, offering a mechanical life cycle much closer to a new vehicle. Most VXR trims in the region are paired with the 5.7L petrol engine; finding the V8 diesel in this high specification is a unique opportunity for buyers prioritizing long-range fuel efficiency without sacrificing power. The white exterior is a massive advantage in the local market, as it reflects heat better and remains the most liquid color for resale.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim sits at the top of the hierarchy, adding significant luxury over the GXR, including ventilated front seats, a premium audio system, and a 360-degree camera system for easier parking. Unlike lower trims, the VXR features the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) which significantly improves ride comfort on long highway drives. You also get a larger 9-inch infotainment screen and rear entertainment displays, making it the preferred choice for family-oriented buyers in the GCC.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser stands out against the Nissan Patrol by offering a more robust 4.5L V8 diesel option, providing superior low-end torque for towing and heavy sand driving. Its 138-litre dual tank setup offers a cruising range that rivals like the Chevrolet Tahoe cannot match, essential for cross-border trips or remote desert exploring. Additionally, the Land Cruiser’s specialized off-road tech, such as Crawl Control, provides a level of technical capability that luxury-focused rivals often lack.

Running Costs & Resale

This diesel variant is notably more economical than its 5.7L petrol counterparts, with real-world combined consumption often averaging around 10.5L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC, maintenance is straightforward in any emirate or neighboring country. Historically, the Land Cruiser is the gold standard for value retention in the UAE, typically depreciating only 8–10% annually, which is significantly lower than European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 4.5L V8 turbo-diesel produces 650 Nm of torque, allowing for effortless overtaking on highways like the E11 even when fully loaded with eight passengers. This power is managed by a full-time all-wheel-drive system and a low-range transfer case, making it virtually unstoppable in deep sand. With its body-on-frame construction and 225mm of ground clearance, it is engineered to handle the extreme heat and rugged terrain of the Arabian Peninsula for decades.

Comfort & Cabin

The eight-seat cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that can cool the large interior in minutes. The VXR's cooled center console (cool box) is an essential local feature for keeping beverages cold during summer months. Premium leather upholstery and ventilated seats ensure that long drives between Dubai and Salalah or Riyadh are exceptionally comfortable for the driver and front passenger.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with a full suite of technologies including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. This trim also includes 10 airbags and Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) which enhances stability both on-road and off. Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Collision systems provide an extra layer of security for long-distance desert highway travel.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage VXR diesel Land Cruiser, perfect for the executive who needs a reliable daily driver that can double as a high-performance desert explorer on weekends.
