Summary

This 2019 Dodge Charger GT offers a compelling entry into the modern muscle segment, balancing aggressive styling with the practical efficiency of the 300 hp Pentastar V6. At 135,000 km, this GCC-spec sedan has been driven primarily on regional highways and carries the sought-after Plum Crazy-style Purple exterior, a color that remains highly desirable for resale in the local market. Compared to standard trims, the GT adds a performance-inspired hood, upgraded suspension, and enhanced interior tech that bridges the gap to the larger V8 models. For the GCC buyer, this provides the imposing road presence of a Scat Pack with significantly lower daily running costs and easier maintenance. It is a robust, climate-hardened sedan built for the long-distance highway commutes common across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2019 Chargers

With 135,000 km on the odometer, this car reflects consistent highway use typical for a five-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km. Its purple exterior is a standout choice that holds better niche value than generic colors, appealing to enthusiasts who value the brand's heritage. Being a GCC-spec model, it ensures the air conditioning and cooling systems are optimized for desert heat, unlike imported American-spec alternatives.

GT vs Lower Trims

The GT trim is a significant step up from the base SXT, adding the 300 hp engine calibration and a more aggressive performance body kit including the functional hood scoop. Inside, it features the premium 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, which is a major upgrade over the smaller 7-inch screens found in lower specs. You also benefit from paddle shifters and a performance-tuned suspension that offers sharper handling on fast-moving UAE highways.

Charger vs Segment Rivals

The Charger stands alone as a rear-wheel-drive muscle sedan, offering more character than the Toyota Avalon or Nissan Maxima. Its 70-litre fuel tank provides excellent range for cross-country trips, and the cabin offers superior rear legroom compared to sportier rivals like the Kia Stinger. The simplicity of the naturally aspirated V6 makes it a more durable long-term prospect for the high-temperature GCC environment than turbocharged European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.3L/100km, performing efficiently during steady-state cruising between cities. Service intervals in the GCC are typically recommended every 10,000 km to protect engine health against extreme heat, with a wide network of authorized centers available in major hubs like Dubai, Riyadh, and Kuwait City. The Charger retains value well in the local market, typically seeing 12-15% annual depreciation, which is competitive for a performance-styled sedan.

Performance & Capability

The 3.6L V6 delivers a refined 300 hp, allowing for smooth highway overtaking and a comfortable top speed of 210 km/h. Its 8-speed TorqueFlite transmission is calibrated for both fuel efficiency and responsive shifts, ensuring the car never feels sluggish despite its full-size dimensions. The rear-wheel-drive architecture provides a traditional driving feel that is increasingly rare in the sedan segment, making it a favorite for those who enjoy the drive as much as the destination.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring a power-adjustable driver’s seat and dual-zone automatic climate control that is well-regarded for its performance in 45°C+ temperatures. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents and a spacious bench that easily accommodates three adults, making it a viable family car. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation help keep the interior quiet, filtering out road noise during high-speed highway travel.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a ParkView rear back-up camera, ParkSense rear park assist, and a comprehensive suite of seven airbags including a driver’s knee bag. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and All-Speed Traction Control provide vital assistance during rare rain events or on sandy road surfaces. The heavy-duty braking system and Ready Alert Braking ensure consistent stopping power, a critical factor for the fast-paced traffic flow found on the E11 and other major regional arteries.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking muscle car looks without the V8 fuel bill, this GCC-spec GT in a signature color is the ideal balance of style, local reliability, and everyday practicality.
