Summary

This 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe GL represents a balanced choice for GCC families, offering an average of 14,000 km per year, which is significantly below the regional typical use for a 7-year-old vehicle. Its white exterior is a top-tier resale color in the UAE, providing both heat deflection in the summer and strong value retention for the future. As a Canadian-spec model, it features high-quality cabin insulation and standard safety tech like Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance that often requires a higher trim in other markets. This crossover stands out for its easy-to-drive nature and reliable 2.4L engine, making it a dependable daily commuter between Emirates. For buyers prioritizing safety and flexible seating without the high fuel costs of a V6, this AWD SUV is an excellent regional opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2019 Santa Fes

With 98,000 km on the odometer, this Santa Fe has been driven roughly 14,000 km per year, well under the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring it remains easier to sell and cooler during the peak summer months. Its Canadian specifications include a robust safety suite that is often reserved for mid-to-high level GCC trims.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim with HTRAC All-Wheel Drive adds significant stability over the base front-wheel-drive models, which is particularly useful on sandy or rain-slicked roads. It standardizes essential GCC-relevant tech such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance and Rear Cross-Traffic Assist. Additionally, you get the convenience of a power-adjustable driver's seat and an auto-defogging windshield system, enhancing daily comfort.

Santa Fe vs Segment Rivals

The Santa Fe competes directly with the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail, but leads the segment with its superior interior cargo volume of up to 71.3 cubic feet. Its HTRAC AWD system is highly regarded for smooth transitions on highway drives compared to more basic setups found in rivals. Families will also appreciate the specific focus on passenger safety tech that comes standard in this generation.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.4L AWD powertrain averages around 10.1 L/100km combined, offering better economy for city commuting in Dubai or Riyadh than larger V6 SUVs. Hyundai's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures parts are readily available and affordable. The Santa Fe enjoys a stable depreciation curve in the GCC, typically holding its value better than European counterparts in the same class.

Performance & Capability

The 2.4L GDI engine delivers 174 horsepower, providing steady performance for highway overtaking and cross-country cruises. The HTRAC AWD system intelligently manages torque between axles to provide confidence on gravel paths or during sudden rainstorms. With a braked towing capacity of up to 907 kg (2,000 lbs), it is well-suited for hauling light recreational equipment for weekend trips to the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater configuration is designed for maximum versatility, featuring a second row that slides and reclines to balance legroom and cargo space. The Canadian-spec climate system is efficient, and the cabin remains quiet thanks to improved sound insulation introduced for this model year. Standard smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensures modern connectivity on long drives between cities.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of this trim, featuring a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance. The inclusion of Rear Occupant Alert and Safe Exit Assist provides extra peace of mind for families with children. These active systems are paired with a comprehensive airbag arrangement, making it one of the most secure choices in its price bracket.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking a modern, low-mileage 7-seater that balances safety and economy, this white AWD Santa Fe is a smart, low-risk investment.
