Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
• 475 hp from a 6.4-litre HEMI V8
• 3,266 kg maximum braked towing capacity

Summary

This 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT offers a rare combination of heavy-duty utility and track-ready performance that few SUVs in the UAE can match. With its signature Grey finish—a high-demand, strong-resale color in the local market—and a naturally aspirated HEMI V8, it stands out as a purist’s performance machine. While this is a Canadian-spec vehicle, it provides an accessible entry point into high-performance SRT ownership compared to local GCC equivalents. For a GCC buyer, this model represents the sweet spot of American muscle, offering immense overtaking power for highway commutes and a robust chassis capable of family duties. At 141,000 km, it has been driven regularly, which often suggests the mechanical systems have been kept in active rotation rather than sitting idle in the heat.

This Car vs Other 2019 Grand Cherokees

At 141,000 km, this SRT sits at a higher mileage than the typical 20,000 km annual average for the UAE, yet it remains mechanically relevant given the durability of the 6.4-litre powertrain. The Grey exterior is a significant resale advantage in the GCC, as neutral tones retain value better than brighter sport colors. As a Canadian-spec model, it offers the same core performance hardware as local cars but requires buyers to prioritize a pre-purchase inspection of the cooling system to ensure it meets local summer demands.

SRT vs Lower Trims

The SRT is a massive step up from the Summit or Overland, replacing the standard suspension with an adaptive Bilstein competition setup and adding a high-performance Brembo braking system. Inside, you gain SRT-exclusive flat-bottom performance steering wheels and carbon fiber accents that aren't available on lower trims. Most importantly for the GCC, it includes ventilated front seats and the heavy-duty Quadra-Trac Active On-Demand AWD system as standard equipment.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

The Grand Cherokee SRT leads rivals like the BMW X5 xDrive50i and Mercedes-GLE 450 in raw towing capacity and displacement, offering a visceral V8 experience that European turbocharged engines lack. While rivals focus on digital complexity, the Jeep provides a massive 93-litre fuel tank, making it superior for long-distance cross-border drives between emirates. Its Selec-Track system also offers more dedicated track and tow modes than most road-biased family SUVs in this class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 15.2 L/100km, though city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh can see this rise to 18.3 L/100km. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and while this is a Canadian import, Jeep's extensive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures parts availability remains high. The SRT trim historically holds its value better than the V6 Laredo, though Canadian specs generally trade at a 10-15% discount compared to GCC-spec cars at the 5-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is the 6.4-litre HEMI V8, delivering 475 hp and 637 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds. Its top speed is officially rated at 257 km/h, providing effortless confidence on the E11 highway. With five selectable drive modes—Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, and Tow—the vehicle adapts instantly from a comfortable family cruiser to a stiff, aggressive performance machine.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for the GCC climate, featuring standard ventilated front seats and a powerful dual-zone A/C system with dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. A premium Harman Kardon 19-speaker audio system provides exceptional sound insulation from road noise during long desert drives. The 1,028-litre boot space ensures plenty of room for weekend gear or grocery runs without sacrificing rear legroom.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a full ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking—essential for navigating fast-paced UAE highway traffic. Standard 360-degree parking sensors and a high-resolution rearview camera simplify maneuvering this large SUV in tight city malls. It also features electronic stability control and specialized performance traction control to manage the high power output on both hot asphalt and occasional sandy surfaces.

The bottom line

This SRT is the perfect match for the enthusiast driver who needs a practical family SUV but refuses to give up the soul of a naturally aspirated V8. It represents a high-value opportunity to own one of Jeep's most legendary performance trims in a market-preferred color.
