Summary

This 2019 Lexus IS300 Premier represents a balanced choice for GCC professionals, combining legendary Japanese reliability with a modern turbocharged powertrain. Finished in white, the most desirable resale color in the region, this sedan benefits from the 2017 facelift's sharper aesthetics and enhanced interior technology. With its rear-wheel-drive setup and 241 horsepower, it offers a more engaging drive than its front-wheel-drive competitors while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency for daily commutes. For a seven-year-old vehicle, it remains a high-value entry into the luxury segment, supported by the most extensive service network in the Middle East.

This Car vs Other 2019 IS300s

At 139,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly below the GCC average of approximately 140,000 to 175,000 km for a 7-year-old car, indicating consistent highway use rather than heavy city wear. The white exterior is the strongest color for local resale, offering the best heat reflection and value retention in the UAE and wider GCC market. Compared to American-spec imports often found in this price bracket, this GCC-spec example ensures full compatibility with local fuel grades and authorized service centers.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the base Prestige model, most notably adding the larger 10.3-inch high-resolution infotainment display with integrated navigation. Drivers also benefit from ventilated front seats, a critical feature for summer comfort in the GCC, and an upgraded 10-speaker audio system. These additions, along with the moonroof and front and rear parking sensors, make the Premier a much more competitive choice in the local used market.

IS300 vs Segment Rivals

The Lexus IS300 leads the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 in long-term ownership confidence, largely due to the widespread availability of parts and the durability of its 8-speed automatic transmission. While European rivals focus on edge-case performance, the IS300 provides a 66-litre fuel tank that is better suited for long-distance driving between emirates. Its cabin insulation is specifically engineered to handle high-decibel road noise and extreme exterior temperatures more effectively than many in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged engine is remarkably efficient for an executive sedan, achieving roughly 7.5 L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic will see figures closer to 11.0 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with the extensive Al Futtaim and regional Lexus networks, maintenance is more affordable than for German equivalents. As a Lexus, this model enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in the Middle East, typically retaining more value at the 5-to-7-year mark than its direct segment competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 241 hp turbocharged engine provides a punchy 350 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless highway overtaking and smooth acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.0 seconds. The 8-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission is tuned for refinement, locking the torque converter for a more mechanical feel during spirited driving. Rear-wheel drive gives this sedan a balanced weight distribution that enhances cornering stability on well-paved UAE motorways.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Premier trim offers a 5-seat layout featuring high-quality leatherette upholstery and dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents. The cooling capacity of the Lexus AC system is widely regarded as the best in the segment, essential for maintaining cabin comfort during the 45°C summer months. Standard acoustic glass helps keep the cabin serene, even when cruising at high highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a standard suite that includes 10 airbags and Lexus Safety System+ features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert. For GCC highway driving, the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provide vital assistance in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The vehicle also features a reinforced body structure that has historically earned high safety ratings in global crash testing.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec IS300 Premier is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking a reliable, high-spec luxury sedan that holds its value and handles the regional climate with ease.
