Summary

This 2022 Lexus IS300 AWD is a standout choice in the GCC market, offering the rare combination of a naturally aspirated V6 and the security of all-wheel drive. With 78,000 km, it sits at a typical mileage for a well-maintained four-year-old vehicle in the region, where highway commuting is the norm. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the local climate, masking dust while maintaining strong resale demand alongside white and silver. Unlike its turbocharged four-cylinder rivals, this Canadian-spec V6 offers smooth, linear power delivery that handles high-speed highway overtaking with ease. For the UAE buyer, it represents a reliable, premium entry into the luxury sedan segment with a proven mechanical pedigree.

This Car vs Other 2022 IS300s

While many 2022 models in the market feature the 2.0L turbocharged engine, this specific unit carries the 3.5L V6, a powertrain favored in the GCC for its long-term durability and heat tolerance. The 78,000 km mileage is average for a car of this age in the region, suggesting it has been used for typical inter-city commutes. The Grey finish is a high-retention color, performing significantly better at resale than bolder tones.

AWD vs Lower Trims

Choosing the AWD trim over the base RWD model upgrades the powertrain from a 2.0L four-cylinder to a more robust 3.5L V6, significantly improving driving refinement. In addition to the mechanical gains, this trim typically includes standard features highly valued by GCC drivers, such as heated and ventilated front seats and a power moonroof. The all-wheel-drive system provides superior stability on sand-dusted roads and during the rare but heavy regional rainstorms.

IS300 vs Segment Rivals

The Lexus IS300 leads rivals like the BMW 330i and Audi A4 in terms of mechanical simplicity, utilizing a naturally aspirated V6 that many buyers prefer for long-term ownership. While German competitors often focus on small-displacement turbos, the Lexus offers a 66-litre fuel tank that is ideal for long desert highway runs between Emirates. Its standard safety suite is also more comprehensive than many entry-level European configurations.

Running Costs & Resale

Lexus maintains some of the strongest value retention in the GCC, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually compared to the 12-18% seen in European rivals. The 3.5L V6 is famously reliable, and although this is a Canadian-spec vehicle, parts are widely available through the extensive Lexus service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Real-world fuel consumption for this AWD V6 averages around 10.8 L/100km, which is competitive for a six-cylinder sedan in stop-start city traffic.

Performance & Capability

The 255 hp V6 engine provides a top speed of 230 km/h, ensuring it never feels underpowered on fast-moving highways like E11. The all-wheel-drive system is paired with a smooth six-speed automatic transmission, offering a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.4 seconds. Drivers can toggle through dedicated modes including Sport for sharper throttle response and Snow for increased traction on loose surfaces.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for premium comfort during hot GCC summers, featuring standard ventilated front seats and a powerful dual-zone climate control system. The interior is well-insulated from exterior road noise and heat, while the 10-speaker premium audio system and 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay provide modern connectivity. While the IS is a compact sedan, the driver-focused cockpit offers excellent ergonomics for long-distance cruising.

Safety

Standard on this trim is the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which includes sophisticated aids like Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist, both essential for reducing fatigue on long highway drives. The suite also features Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Blind Spot Monitoring, providing vital protection in fast-moving, multi-lane traffic environments.

The bottom line

This V6-powered IS300 AWD is the perfect match for a young professional seeking a reliable, high-retention luxury sedan that handles the UAE's heat and highways with absolute composure.
