Summary

The 2019 Peugeot 308 GT Line is a compelling choice for GCC buyers looking for European flair without the typical luxury price tag. With mileage slightly above average for its age, it reflects the typical highway usage of the region, ensuring the mechanical components have been regularly exercised. The GT Line trim is particularly desirable in the used market, as it adds significant aesthetic and technology upgrades that enhance its resale appeal. Finished in white—the strongest resale color in the UAE—this hatchback stands out from Japanese rivals by offering a more premium interior and a refined turbocharged driving experience. For an owner in the GCC, it provides the perfect balance of city maneuverability and stable highway cruising between the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2019 308s

At 131,700 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the global average but aligns with the high-mileage highway driving typical in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is common. The white exterior is the most preferred color for local resale, offering superior heat reflection and value retention. This specific listing offers a well-maintained entry into the premium hatchback segment at a competitive price point.

GT LINE vs Lower Trims

The GT Line significantly elevates the 308 experience over the standard Allure trim, adding 18-inch alloy wheels and a sportier exterior body kit with twin exhaust finishers. Inside, you receive a more premium cabin featuring Red Stitching, a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, and the highly-regarded i-Cockpit with a 9.7-inch touchscreen. It also features a panoramic glass roof and full LED headlights, which are highly sought-after features in the GCC used market.

308 vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Volkswagen Golf and Mazda 3 offer strong competition, the 308 leads with a generous 420-litre boot capacity, which is remarkably practical for a compact hatchback. Its 1.6L turbo engine provides a punchy 240 Nm of torque, offering better mid-range overtaking power than the naturally aspirated engines found in entry-level Japanese competitors. Additionally, the unique i-Cockpit layout provides a modern, driver-centric feel that rivals often lack.

Running Costs & Resale

The 308 is highly efficient for its class, achieving approximately 6.5 L/100km, which translates to excellent range for long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Authorized service centers are well-established in the UAE (Swaidan Trading) and across major GCC cities like Riyadh and Doha, ensuring parts availability is reliable. While European hatchbacks depreciate faster than Japanese workhorses, the GT Line trim holds its value better than base models due to its high equipment level.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, this 308 delivers 163 hp and can reach a top speed of 212 km/h. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in a respectable 9.1 seconds, providing plenty of confidence for merging onto fast-moving GCC highways. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, making it as comfortable in stop-start Sharjah traffic as it is at cruising speeds on the E11.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a standout for the segment, featuring a massive panoramic glass roof that makes the interior feel airy, though the efficient dual-zone climate control is more than capable of handling the 45°C summer heat. Passengers enjoy sculpted seats with Alcantara inserts, and the rear vents ensure comfort for all five occupants. The small-diameter steering wheel and high-mounted instrument panel are designed to reduce driver fatigue during long cross-country trips.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, supported by six airbags and a suite of active systems including Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Traction Control (ASR). For GCC highway driving, the standard cruise control with speed limiter and front/rear parking sensors with a 180-degree camera make navigating tight city spaces and long desert roads equally stress-free. It also includes ISOFIX points for family buyers.

The bottom line

Perfect for the young professional or small family who wants a stylish, tech-forward European hatchback that is more distinctive than a Corolla and more efficient than an SUV.
