Summary

This GCC-spec BMW M850i Gran Coupe offers a refined balance of executive luxury and supercar-level performance. With an average of just over 13,000 km driven per year, this vehicle sits well below the typical GCC annual mileage of 20,000 km, representing a well-preserved example for its age. The white exterior is a high-demand color in the regional used market, ensuring strong resale liquidity and better heat management during the summer months. As a performance-oriented xDrive sedan, it stands out for its ability to deliver high-speed highway stability and all-weather traction. For the discerning buyer in the UAE or wider GCC, this M850i provides the presence of a flagship GT with the daily practicality of a four-door cabin.

This Car vs Other 2020 M850i Gran Coupes

At 79,977 km, this M850i has been driven significantly less than the 120,000–150,000 km typically expected for a six-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, providing a distinct advantage for future resale value. Maintaining a lower-than-average odometer reading makes this specific unit a mechanically attractive choice compared to high-mileage alternatives.

xDrive vs Lower Trims

Moving up from the 840i to this M850i replaces the six-cylinder engine with a potent 4.4-litre V8, nearly doubling the performance feel on the highway. This trim adds essential GCC luxury features as standard, including ventilated front seats and the Adaptive M Suspension Professional with active roll stabilization. It also features standard xDrive all-wheel drive and Integral Active Steering, which significantly improves maneuverability in tight city parking.

M850i Gran Coupe vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door or the Audi RS7, the M850i Gran Coupe is often praised for its superior balance of ride comfort and long-distance grand touring capability. Its 68-litre fuel tank and efficient highway cruising make it ideal for cross-emirate drives, such as Dubai to Abu Dhabi. The BMW iDrive 7 system remains one of the most intuitive interfaces in the segment, offering seamless connectivity for regional drivers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the V8 powertrain averages around 10.7L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start traffic can see city figures rise to approximately 14.5L/100km. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a wide network of authorized AGMC and Abu Dhabi Motors service centers, ensuring easy access to genuine parts and expert maintenance. European luxury sedans of this caliber typically see a depreciation rate of 12–15% annually in the UAE, but the white-on-GCC configuration helps this model retain value better than imported specs.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is a 3.9-second sprint to 100 km/h, powered by 530 hp and a massive 750 Nm of torque. This performance is managed by the xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which provides exceptional grip on sandy or rain-slicked tarmac. Multiple drive modes, from Comfort to Sport Plus, allow the driver to transform the car's character from a quiet executive cruiser to a sharp, aggressive sports sedan at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for long-distance luxury, featuring standard ventilated front seats that are crucial for the local climate. The Gran Coupe body style provides significantly more rear legroom than the two-door variant, making it a viable family sedan. High-end materials like Merino leather and the 12.3-inch digital Live Cockpit Professional create a premium environment that remains insulated from outside road noise and summer heat.

Safety

This M850i comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety technology, including Active Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning, which are vital for fast-moving multi-lane GCC highways. The standard 360-degree surround-view camera and Parking Assistant Plus make navigating narrow urban spaces effortless. Additionally, the Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation provides an extra layer of protection in dense city traffic.

The bottom line

This M850i Gran Coupe is the perfect choice for an executive who needs a high-performance daily driver with the reliability of GCC specifications and below-average mileage. It offers a rare opportunity to own a flagship BMW V8 that is as capable on a weekend road trip as it is arriving at a business meeting.
