Summary

This 2021 BMW 730Li Excellence represents the refined entry into the flagship 7 Series range, pairing the prestige of a long-wheelbase sedan with an efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. With a silver exterior—a high-resale favorite in the GCC—and mileage reflecting typical highway-heavy local use for a 5-year-old vehicle, this listing offers a well-maintained executive experience. The Excellence trim provides the iconic chrome-heavy aesthetic and luxurious interior expected of a diplomat-class sedan while remaining more fuel-efficient in city traffic than its V8 siblings. For a GCC buyer, this model strikes a unique balance between the high-status presence of a flagship BMW and manageable long-term running costs in a region where authorized service centers are widely available.

This Car vs Other 2021 730Lis

With 80,607 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits within the expected mileage bracket for a 5-year-old executive sedan in the GCC, where annual highway commutes often reach 20,000 km. The silver exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, as it effectively hides desert dust and remains one of the strongest colors for retaining value at resale. Compared to higher-mileage examples often found in the secondary market, this car maintains the tight mechanical feel and cabin integrity essential for the 7 Series experience.

EXCELLENCE vs Lower Trims

The Excellence trim elevates the 730Li with a sophisticated chrome-laden exterior package and 19-inch wheels that differentiate it from the base models. Inside, it standardizes high-value GCC features such as the 360° surround-view camera system, premium leather upholstery, and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It offers a more classically elegant alternative to the M Sport, focusing on passenger serenity and ride comfort rather than aggressive styling.

730Li vs Segment Rivals

The 730Li competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8, leading with a 3,210 mm wheelbase that provides exceptional rear legroom for its class. While rivals often start with larger displacement engines, the BMW’s turbocharged 4-cylinder offers a lighter front end for better agility in urban GCC traffic while maintaining a 250 km/h top speed. Its 78-liter fuel tank ensures a significant cruising range, making it a superior choice for long-distance drives between the Emirates or across GCC borders.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0-liter powertrain is notably efficient for a flagship sedan, achieving approximately 6.3 to 7.0 L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start city traffic will see higher real-world figures. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a more robust cooling system designed for 45°C+ summers and enjoys a valuation premium over non-regional imports. BMW maintains a comprehensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring reliable parts availability. Owners should expect a depreciation rate typical of European luxury flagships, though the 730Li's smaller engine often attracts a wider pool of secondary buyers concerned with fuel economy.

Performance & Capability

Despite its executive dimensions, the 730Li reaches 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, providing plenty of punch for highway overtaking. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for silk-smooth shifts, paired with a rear-wheel-drive setup that preserves BMW's signature driving dynamics. The standard adaptive air suspension automatically adjusts to local road conditions, ensuring the car remains composed whether cruising at 140 km/h on the E11 or navigating speed bumps in residential communities.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of acoustic glass and fine materials, featuring 4-zone automatic climate control to ensure every passenger stays cool during the intense GCC summer. Ambient lighting and a large panoramic sunroof enhance the spacious feel of the long-wheelbase interior. Technology is front and center with the iDrive 7.0 system, wireless charging, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system that provides a crisp soundstage for daily commutes. The rear seating area is particularly generous, designed to comfortably accommodate executive passengers on extended journeys.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the Excellence trim, featuring the Active Driving Assistant suite which includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Detection—vital for the fast-paced, multi-lane highway environment of the UAE. The 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors simplify maneuvering this large sedan into tight city spaces. Passive safety is bolstered by a full array of advanced airbags and a chassis constructed with carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (Carbon Core) for maximum structural integrity.

The bottom line

This 730Li Excellence is the ideal choice for a professional seeking the presence of a BMW flagship with the sensible running costs of a 4-cylinder engine. In a high-resale color and GCC-certified spec, it represents a secure entry into executive luxury.
