Summary

This 2020 Chevrolet Blazer RS is a standout choice for buyers seeking a mid-size SUV that prioritizes aggressive styling and V6 performance. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-optimized for the region's intense summer heat and high-speed highway requirements. The RS trim is the most desirable in the lineup for local buyers, offering a sportier aesthetic and a more powerful engine compared to the standard four-cylinder variants. With its Camaro-inspired design and sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, it offers a distinct alternative to more conservative rivals. This specific listing represents a versatile daily driver that balances weekend practicality with a commanding road presence.

This Car vs Other 2020 Blazers

With 137,000 km, this Blazer has been driven approximately 27,000 km per year, which is closely aligned with typical GCC annual usage where highway commutes are long and frequent. It remains a competitive option in the used market, especially given the popularity of the RS trim's V6 powertrain. While white and silver are the most common colors for resale in the region, the 'Other' color on this RS trim often highlights its blacked-out accents, maintaining strong appeal for enthusiast buyers.

RS vs Lower Trims

The RS trim significantly upgrades the Blazer experience with a standard 3.6L V6 engine and a sport-tuned suspension that lower trims like the L and 1LT lack. Inside, you benefit from premium features essential for the GCC, including a heated steering wheel and a more advanced 8-inch driver information display. Externally, the RS is distinguished by its unique blacked-out grille, black Chevy bowties, and larger 20-inch wheels, giving it a much more premium and aggressive stance than the base models.

Blazer vs Segment Rivals

The Blazer RS competes directly with the Ford Edge ST-Line and the Nissan Murano, leading the pack with its sharp, Camaro-influenced interior and exterior design. While rivals focus on soft comfort, the Blazer offers a more engaging drive thanks to its twin-clutch AWD system that manages torque across the rear wheels for better handling on fast-moving UAE highways. It also provides a generous 864 litres of cargo space, making it more practical for family road trips than several boutique crossovers in the same class.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L V6 typically averages around 11.4 L/100km combined, which is competitive for a vehicle of this size and power. Chevrolet has a reliable and extensive authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring parts and maintenance expertise are always accessible. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains value better than non-regional imports, generally seeing an annual depreciation of 12-15% in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 308 hp V6 engine provides authoritative power, making highway overtaking effortless on long stretches between emirates. The sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system features selectable modes, including a Sport setting that sharpens steering and throttle response for a more dynamic feel. With a braked towing capacity of up to 2,041 kg when properly equipped, it is also capable of hauling light trailers or recreational equipment for weekend getaways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five occupants with high-quality perforated leather seats featuring distinctive red RS accents. The dual-zone automatic climate control is robustly engineered to handle 45°C+ summer peaks, supported by dedicated rear air vents to keep all passengers comfortable. Quiet and well-insulated, the interior remains a calm environment even at highway speeds, further enhanced by the intuitive 8-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for this trim, which includes a comprehensive suite of active features such as Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert—both vital for navigating multi-lane GCC traffic. It earned a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA, supported by a high-strength steel safety cage and a full complement of seven airbags. The standard high-definition rearview camera and rear park assist make maneuvering this mid-size SUV in tight city parking structures straightforward and safe.

The bottom line

This Blazer RS is the ideal match for a buyer who wants an SUV that looks and drives with more personality than the standard family hauler while benefiting from a full GCC-optimized specification.
