Summary

This 2020 Infiniti QX50 LUXE is a sophisticated choice for GCC drivers who prioritize cutting-edge engineering and cabin refinement. Powered by the world’s first mass-production variable-compression turbo engine, it intelligently balances high-performance overtaking power with city efficiency. The LUXE trim is particularly desirable in the local market for adding the panoramic glass roof and roof rails, features that significantly bolster its premium feel and resale appeal. Its blue exterior offers a refreshing alternative to the common grayscale palette while maintaining strong value retention typical of Japanese luxury marques in the region. For a 2020 model, this mileage indicates consistent highway use, which is ideal for the longevity of the VC-Turbo powertrain.

This Car vs Other 2020 QX50s

With 100,143 km, this vehicle sits within the typical expected range for a 2020 model in the GCC, where long-distance commuting between Emirates is common. Unlike many imports, this is a genuine GCC spec vehicle, ensuring the cooling systems and air conditioning are factory-built to handle extreme summer temperatures. The Blue exterior is a high-demand color that offers better-than-average resale liquidity compared to niche custom shades.

LUXE vs Lower Trims

The LUXE trim provides a meaningful upgrade over the base PURE trim, most notably adding the expansive panoramic moonroof that creates a much airier cabin environment. It also adds standard LED front fog lamps and functional roof rails, which are essential for GCC families who require additional cargo versatility for weekend road trips. These additions are key differentiators that buyers in the pre-owned market specifically look for when comparing luxury crossovers.

QX50 vs Segment Rivals

The QX50 stands out against the Lexus NX and BMW X3 by offering significantly more cargo space, boasting up to 1,843 liters with the rear seats folded. Its VC-Turbo engine technology provides a more flexible power delivery than the standard four-cylinder setups in European rivals, specifically tuned for both stop-start city traffic and high-speed highway cruising. Additionally, the QX50 offers a more generous suite of standard safety tech at this trim level than many of its German competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the RWD VC-Turbo configuration averages approximately 9.7 L/100km, offering a competitive edge for long-distance GCC drives. Maintenance is straightforward with a robust authorized service network spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, with major service intervals typically occurring every 10,000 km. Infiniti models in this segment generally see a stable depreciation rate of 10-12% annually, performing better than many European counterparts due to lower long-term parts costs.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is the 2.0L Variable Compression Turbo engine, which produces a robust 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless highway merging even when fully loaded. The Rear Wheel Drive setup provides a more engaging and balanced driving feel on paved roads compared to standard front-drive crossovers. While built for the road, its ground clearance is ample for handling gravel tracks and sandy patches during family outings to the outskirts.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the QX50 LUXE features a 5-seat layout with sliding and reclining second-row seats that provide class-leading legroom for rear passengers. The dual-zone automatic climate control is specifically engineered for the GCC, quickly neutralizing heat soak after the car has been parked outside. Premium materials and acoustic glass insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary, protecting occupants from wind noise during fast-paced highway travel.

Safety

This QX50 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Predictive Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Warning, which are vital for the fast-moving multi-lane traffic found in the UAE and KSA. It also features Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and a high-resolution Rear View Monitor to assist with tight city parking. The vehicle's advanced airbag system and high-strength steel construction provide peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional or young family seeking a tech-forward Japanese luxury SUV that balances daily efficiency with the premium features required for the GCC lifestyle.
