Summary

This 2021 Infiniti QX50 LUXE represents a smart entry into the luxury compact SUV segment, balancing high-tech performance with premium comfort. Its Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong visual appeal and resale value in the GCC market. The standout feature is the world-first variable compression engine, which intelligently adjusts for power or efficiency depending on your driving style. While the mileage is higher than average for its age, these highway-driven kilometers in a GCC-spec vehicle demonstrate the model's reliability for long-distance travel. For a buyer seeking a modern, tech-focused SUV that doesn't sacrifice cabin refinement, this QX50 is a compelling choice.

This Car vs Other 2021 QX50s

With 194,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly more than the typical GCC average of 25,000 km per year, indicating heavy highway use between emirates. While the mileage is high for a 2021 model, the Blue exterior is a desirable choice that helps it stand out against the common white and silver fleet. Buyers can take confidence in the fact that GCC-spec Infinitis are engineered with reinforced cooling systems to handle extreme summer heat better than imported counterparts.

LUXE vs Lower Trims

The LUXE trim is the sweet spot of the QX50 lineup, adding essential premium features that the base PURE trim lacks. Most notably, it introduces the panoramic moonroof and ProPILOT Assist, a suite of semi-autonomous driving technologies that make long Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi commutes much less taxing. You also get heated front seats and remote engine start, allowing you to cool the cabin before entering during the peak summer months.

QX50 vs Segment Rivals

The QX50 competes directly with the Lexus NX and BMW X3, leading the segment with its innovative VC-Turbo engine technology that offers V6-like power with 4-cylinder efficiency. It provides superior rear legroom thanks to a sliding second row, making it more practical for families than many German rivals. Additionally, the QX50's dual-screen infotainment setup offers a more dedicated interface for climate and media controls compared to the single-screen layouts found in competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the VC-Turbo engine typically averages around 9.5 to 10.5 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Infiniti has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. While the high mileage affects initial price, GCC-spec Infinitis generally depreciate at a rate of 12-15% annually, holding value better than many European luxury crossovers due to lower long-term maintenance costs and high parts availability.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L VC-Turbo engine produces a robust 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque, enabling smooth highway overtaking and a refined cruise at speed. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system provides excellent stability on rain-slicked roads or gravel tracks during weekend escapes to the wadis. The continuously variable transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring the power delivery remains linear whether you are navigating stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or cruising the open desert highways.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the QX50 features a driver-centric cabin with premium leatherette upholstery and a dual-zone automatic climate control system that is highly effective in local temperatures. The acoustic laminated front glass significantly reduces wind noise, providing a quiet sanctuary during long-distance drives. Cargo space is generous at 880 liters with the seats up, easily accommodating large grocery hauls or luggage for a family road trip across the border.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the LUXE trim, which comes standard with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, and Predictive Forward Collision Warning. The ProPILOT Assist system integrates Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane at a set distance from traffic. Additionally, eight airbags and a high-strength steel chassis provide top-tier protection, as evidenced by its 5-star NHTSA safety rating.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-savvy professional or small family, this GCC-spec LUXE trim offers high-end features and modern safety at a price point that accounts for its highway-proven reliability.
