Summary

This 2020 Infiniti QX80 represents the absolute peak of the model's luxury and technological offering, featuring the highly sought-after LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim. With a mileage that reflects consistent use across the GCC’s vast highway network, this vehicle has been maintained in a manner that ensures its massive 5.6L V8 remains as smooth and capable as the day it left the showroom. The black exterior is a perennial favorite in the UAE and wider region, ensuring that resale value remains exceptionally strong compared to more niche color choices. This specific model stands out from its competitors by offering a genuine 8-seat configuration without sacrificing the premium, executive feel typically reserved for 5-seater luxury cars. For a GCC buyer, the most important consideration is the vehicle's ability to master the climate and terrain, and this QX80 does so with a heavy-duty cooling system and a world-class suspension setup designed for regional conditions. It bridges the gap between a rugged off-roader and a sophisticated city cruiser, making it an ideal choice for the modern family in Dubai, Riyadh, or Kuwait City.

This Car vs Other 2020 QX80s

When comparing this specific unit to other 2020 models currently on the market, the primary advantage lies in its comprehensive GCC specification and its top-tier trim level. While the mileage sits at 120,000 km, this is actually quite typical for a large family SUV in the region, where a round trip between Dubai and Abu Dhabi can easily add 300 km in a single day. Many other listings may feature lower trims or imported North American specs which lack the localized cooling systems and warranty support found here. The black exterior is a significant value-add in the GCC used market, as it remains one of the most requested colors for high-end SUVs, ensuring a faster turnaround when you eventually decide to upgrade. Furthermore, this vehicle’s condition suggests it has spent the majority of its life on paved highways rather than being subjected to the mechanical strain of heavy dune bashing. Choosing a GCC-spec vehicle like this one guarantees that every sensor and cooling component is calibrated for 50°C summers, providing a peace of mind that imports simply cannot match.

LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim transforms the QX80 from a capable SUV into a rolling sanctuary of technology and comfort. Unlike the base Luxe trim, this version includes the full ProActive suite of driver assistance systems, which are essential for navigating the fast-paced, multi-lane highways of the GCC. You also gain the Sensory package, which elevates the interior with quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seating and a charcoal ash wood trim that feels significantly more premium than the standard finishes. One of the most noticeable upgrades for the local climate is the inclusion of climate-controlled front seats, which provide both heating and cooling at a much higher intensity than base versions. The audio experience is also vastly improved with the Bose Performance Series 17-speaker system, designed to provide crisp sound even over the roar of a desert wind. Finally, this trim adds the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, a critical feature that reduces body lean in corners and improves stability during high-speed highway cruising.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The Infiniti QX80 competes in a crowded segment against giants like the Lexus LX 570 and the Cadillac Escalade, yet it carves out its own niche by offering superior value and a more car-like driving dynamic. While the Lexus is often praised for its off-road heritage, the QX80 offers a more modern and spacious third row, making it a better choice for families who actually need to seat eight adults comfortably. Its 5.6L V8 produces a robust 428 hp, providing more standard power than many entry-level V8 competitors in this class. The fuel tank capacity is specifically designed for the long distances common in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, allowing for fewer stops on cross-country journeys compared to smaller European luxury crossovers. Additionally, the Infiniti’s infotainment and safety interface is often cited by regional owners as being more intuitive and less distracting during city driving than the complex systems found in German rivals. This balance of Japanese reliability and American-style proportions makes it a unique proposition in the Gulf market.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a QX80 in the GCC is a remarkably predictable experience due to the brand's well-established presence and extensive service network. Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages around 14.5 L/100km on the highway, though city traffic in places like Riyadh or Dubai can see that figure rise; however, the engine is tuned to run perfectly on local fuel grades. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km, and with authorized service centers conveniently located across all major GCC cities, maintenance is never a logistical challenge. Parts availability is excellent, which helps keep non-routine repair costs lower than those of its European counterparts. In terms of resale, the QX80 holds its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating by only 10-12% annually, which is significantly better than the 15-20% seen in many luxury sedan segments. After three years of ownership, a well-maintained, GCC-spec QX80 remains a high-commodity item in the pre-owned market, ensuring you retain a significant portion of your initial investment.

Performance & Capability

At the heart of this machine is a 428 hp V8 engine that delivers a level of effortless acceleration that is vital for safe overtaking on the E11 or other major regional arteries. The 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved in just under 7 seconds, a remarkable feat for a vehicle of this size and stature. Beyond pure speed, the QX80 is a genuine all-terrain vehicle equipped with a sophisticated All-Mode 4WD system that includes a dedicated 4-Low mode for more demanding off-road situations. Whether you are navigating a soft sand track to a remote beach or towing a large boat to the marina, the 3,850 kg towing capacity ensures you are never underpowered. The ground clearance of 234 mm is among the best in its class, providing ample protection against rocky terrain and high curbs. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control system works silently in the background, adjusting the suspension pressure to keep the vehicle level during cornering or when buffeted by crosswinds on open desert roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the QX80 is designed to be a refuge from the intense GCC heat, featuring an exceptionally powerful tri-zone automatic climate control system that can cool the massive cabin in minutes. With seating for eight, the layout is incredibly versatile, and the Sensory trim ensures that every passenger, even those in the third row, enjoys a premium experience. The cabin is heavily insulated, using acoustic glass to block out the ambient noise of city traffic and wind, creating a quiet environment for long-distance travel. The Bose 17-speaker sound system is a highlight, specifically tuned to the interior dimensions of the QX80 to provide a concert-like experience. For the driver, the elevated seating position provides a commanding view of the road, while the ventilated seats ensure you arrive at your destination refreshed. Even with all seats in use, the boot space remains functional, and with the power-folding seats, you can quickly expand the cargo area to accommodate large shopping trips or bulky outdoor gear.

Safety

Safety in the LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim is comprehensive, featuring a suite of technologies designed to act as a second pair of eyes on the road. The Intelligent Cruise Control is a standout feature for GCC drivers, as it automatically maintains a safe distance from the car ahead during long highway stretches between emirates. Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention are particularly useful on five-lane highways where lane discipline can be challenging. The vehicle also features Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, which provides an extra layer of security in dense urban environments. Unlike many competitors that offer these as expensive add-ons, this Infiniti comes standard with the Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, which can actually sense the deceleration of the vehicle two cars ahead. This proactive approach to safety is why the QX80 remains a top choice for families who prioritize protection on every journey.

The bottom line

This QX80 is the ideal match for a large family or an executive who requires a vehicle that is as comfortable on a 500 km cross-border journey as it is in a VIP parking lot. Given its top-of-the-line trim and GCC-ready specifications, this listing represents a rare opportunity to own a flagship luxury SUV that has already navigated its steepest depreciation curve.
