Summary

This 2021 Infiniti QX80 sits at the top of the range in the Sensory trim, offering a level of interior craftsmanship that sets it apart from more common luxury SUVs. Its black exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the GCC market, while the high-output V8 provides the effortless torque required for long-distance highway cruising between emirates. With its body-on-frame construction and advanced hydraulic suspension, it handles the unique mix of city traffic and desert weekends better than many monocoque rivals. For a buyer seeking a commanding presence and a genuinely premium 7-seat cabin, this specific listing represents a significant step up in features over the base models.

This Car vs Other 2021 QX80s

At 124,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is consistent with typical GCC highway use for a large luxury SUV, where distances between major cities often result in higher annual totals than global averages. The black exterior is a major advantage for local resale, remaining the highest-demand color in the regional used market. While this is an American spec vehicle, it benefits from the same robust 5.6L powertrain found in local models, ensuring reliable performance in high-temperature conditions.

LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE vs Lower Trims

This top-tier trim significantly elevates the cabin experience over the Luxe and Premium Select grades by adding quilted semi-aniline leather upholstery and a 17-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system. It also features the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, which is essential for a smoother ride and flatter cornering on GCC roads. Buyers also benefit from the advanced climate control system with grape polyphenol filters, specifically designed to maintain cabin air quality in dusty environments.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 leads rivals like the Cadillac Escalade and Lexus LX in pure towing capability, boasting a 3,856 kg capacity that is perfect for hauling marine equipment or desert trailers. Unlike the turbocharged V6 engines found in some European competitors, its naturally aspirated 5.6L V8 offers linear power delivery and long-term mechanical simplicity that local workshops are highly familiar with. Its 98-litre fuel tank also provides superior range for long-distance drives across the GCC.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 15.1 L/100km combined, though this can vary during stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. Maintenance follows a 10,000 km rhythm, and parts are widely available through a vast network of authorized centers and independent specialists across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While American spec vehicles face higher initial depreciation, the QX80's reputation for durability ensures it remains a high-liquidity asset in the regional 4x4 market.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers a 0-100 km/h time of 7.5 seconds, providing surprising agility for a vehicle of this scale. The All-Wheel Drive system features dedicated modes for towing and snow, though in a GCC context, the All-Mode 4WD is most valued for its ability to navigate soft sand and gravel during desert excursions. Its heavy-duty suspension is specifically tuned to isolate the cabin from road imperfections, maintaining a quiet environment even at highway speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 7-seat sanctuary featuring ventilated front seats and dedicated rear climate zones, which are vital for maintaining comfort during peak summer temperatures. Second-row passengers enjoy generous legroom and the convenience of remote tip-up seats for easy third-row access. The use of acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening ensures that the interior remains peaceful, effectively blocking out wind noise during high-speed cross-country commutes.

Safety

This trim includes the full ProActive safety suite, featuring Intelligent Cruise Control and Blind Spot Intervention, which are highly effective for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. It also comes standard with a 360° Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, making parking this large SUV in tight urban spaces significantly safer. Standard safety features also include Lane Departure Prevention and Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.

The bottom line

Perfect for the large family that demands peak luxury and heavy-duty towing capability, this Sensory trim QX80 offers the most complete feature set available in the 2021 lineup.
