Summary

This GCC-spec Kia Telluride SX is a premier choice in the family SUV segment, offering a sophisticated blend of capability and refinement. The SX trim provides a significant technology leap over lower versions, featuring premium cabin materials and advanced driver aids that excel on regional highways. With 91,332 km, this vehicle has been driven well within the typical annual expectations for a high-utilization market like the UAE. The black exterior remains one of the most sought-after colors for resale, ensuring strong value retention for the next owner. For a buyer seeking the ultimate balance of 7-seat practicality and top-tier features, this Telluride stands out as a reliable and high-value family workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2020 Tellurides

With approximately 91,000 km on the odometer, this Telluride sits slightly below the typical GCC average for a four-year-old vehicle, which often reaches 100,000 km due to inter-emirate highway commuting. The Ebony Black exterior is a high-demand shade in the local market, offering a distinct resale advantage over niche colors. As a top-tier SX trim, it avoids the feature gaps found in many mid-level SUVs currently listed.

SX vs Lower Trims

The SX trim elevates the Telluride experience far beyond the EX, most notably by adding a 360-degree Surround View Monitor and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. Inside, you benefit from dual sunroofs and driver-seat memory functions that are absent on lower trims. Exterior upgrades include 20-inch black alloy wheels and full LED headlights, providing a more premium aesthetic and better visibility for night-time desert highway drives.

Telluride vs Segment Rivals

The Telluride consistently leads rivals like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander in terms of cabin technology and overall presence. Its 3.8L V6 provides smooth, naturally aspirated power that many GCC drivers prefer over the smaller turbocharged units found in modern competitors. Additionally, the Telluride offers one of the most spacious third-row configurations in its class, making it a genuine 7-adult transporter compared to the tighter seating found in the Highlander.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 is a robust powertrain well-suited for the GCC's high-heat environment, typically requiring service every 10,000 km. Kia's extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts are readily available and maintenance is cost-effective compared to European counterparts. While fuel consumption reflects its large SUV status, the Telluride maintains excellent resale value in the GCC, depreciating slower than many of its American and Japanese segment rivals.

Performance & Capability

Producing 295 horsepower, this Telluride offers confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. It features a verified 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs) braked towing capacity, making it capable of hauling jet skis or small trailers for weekend getaways. The All-Wheel Drive system includes selectable modes, including a Smart mode that adapts to road conditions and a Snow/Mud setting for light off-pavement excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is tailored for the regional climate, featuring three-zone automatic climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure rapid cooling during summer. Ventilated front seats come standard on this trim, providing essential comfort during high-temperature months. The cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to acoustic glass, making long-distance trips between cities effortless for all seven passengers.

Safety

This SX trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance with Pedestrian Detection. The Surround View Monitor is particularly useful for navigating tight parking spaces in busy urban centers like Dubai or Riyadh. Standard adaptive cruise control and Lane Keeping Assist provide a safety net for long desert highway drives, significantly reducing driver fatigue.

The bottom line

This Kia Telluride SX is the ideal match for a growing family that prioritizes safety and premium tech without the luxury-brand maintenance costs. Its GCC specification and strong trim level make it a secure, high-value investment in the current used market.
