Kia Telluride EX Kia Telluride model 2020 gcc full option

Highlights

• Ventilated front seats standard
• 595 litres boot space with third-row folded
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This GCC-spec Kia Telluride EX represents a balanced mid-tier choice for families who need eight-seat capacity without the premium price of the SX trim. Despite the higher mileage, these engines are noted for their durability on long highway stretches across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. White remains the strongest resale color in the regional market, ensuring this SUV holds its value well when it is time to upgrade. It competes directly with the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander by offering more interior space and a more premium cabin feel for the price point. For a buyer looking for a reliable, high-specification family hauler that is already past its steepest depreciation curve, this is a practical entry into the Telluride range.

This Car vs Other 2020 Tellurides

With 165,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has seen consistent use above the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, likely due to long-distance inter-city commuting. In the local market, white is the most sought-after color for heat reflection and ease of resale. While the mileage is higher than average, the mechanical components are designed for these exact highway conditions, making it a reliable choice for budget-conscious family buyers.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim provides significant upgrades over the LX and S versions, most notably the 10.25-inch touchscreen display and genuine leather upholstery. It adds essential GCC features like ventilated front seats and a power liftgate, which are often omitted on base models. Buyers also benefit from tri-zone automatic climate control and wireless phone charging, making the daily commute far more comfortable in extreme temperatures.

Telluride vs Segment Rivals

The Telluride offers a larger footprint and more third-row legroom than the Toyota Highlander, making it a better choice for large families. Its 3.8L V6 provides smooth power delivery for highway overtaking compared to the four-cylinder turbo options found in some rivals. Additionally, the cabin refinement and noise insulation in the EX trim often surpass the materials used in the Honda Pilot.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.8L AWD powertrain averages around 12.5 L/100km in stop-start city traffic and 9.6 L/100km on open highways. Kia has one of the most comprehensive service networks in the region, including Al Majid in the UAE and Juffali in Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are always accessible. While Tellurides generally retain strong value, the higher mileage on this unit is offset by the white exterior, which is the most preferred color for the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The 295 hp V6 engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, providing a refined experience for cross-country drives between emirates. The All-Wheel Drive system features specific terrain modes to handle light sand and gravel, making it suitable for weekend desert excursions or beach trips. It maintains composed handling despite its size, offering enough torque for a 2,267 kg braked towing capacity.

Comfort & Cabin

This eight-seater configuration includes 60/40 split-folding seats that allow for versatile cargo and passenger arrangements. The air conditioning is specifically engineered for the Gulf, featuring roof-mounted vents for both the second and third rows to ensure rapid cooling. Acoustic glass in the front doors helps maintain a quiet environment, shielding passengers from road noise during long highway trips.

Safety

The 2020 Telluride EX comes standard with a robust suite of ADAS features, including Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance with Pedestrian Detection. Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go is particularly useful for heavy traffic on the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. The vehicle is also equipped with a comprehensive seven-airbag system and a Rear View Monitor with dynamic parking guidance.

The bottom line

This Telluride EX is an ideal opportunity for a large family seeking a high-spec SUV that is proven to handle the GCC climate at a more accessible price point than lower-mileage examples.
