Summary

This 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Signature Edition is a top-tier choice for GCC buyers, offering a rare combination of the potent 3.8L V6 engine and a specialized luxury equipment package. With 80,515 km, the mileage is slightly below the regional average for a four-year-old SUV, marking it as a well-maintained example ready for both city commutes and desert weekends. The Signature Edition is highly regarded in the UAE market for its enhanced aesthetic and interior refinements, which significantly aids its resale appeal compared to base trims. As a proven workhorse with a sophisticated Super Select II 4WD system, it stands out for its mechanical simplicity and cooling efficiency in extreme heat. The primary consideration for any local owner is the excellent parts availability and ease of servicing at Al Habtoor or specialized workshops across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2020 Pajeros

With approximately 80,000 km, this vehicle sits comfortably below the typical 100,000 km mark often seen on 2020 models in the highway-heavy GCC market. While many listings feature the entry-level 3.0L or 3.5L engines, this unit carries the preferred 3.8L V6, which is widely considered the most desirable powertrain for desert driving. Its 'Signature Edition' status further differentiates it from standard Highline trims, offering a distinct visual presence that holds value better in the local used market.

GLS H/L SIGNATURE EDI vs Lower Trims

The Signature Edition elevates the GLS Highline with exclusive aesthetic upgrades including a signature body kit, black-accented exterior trim, and gold-finished Mitsubishi emblems. Inside, it adds premium tan or black leather with custom stitching, a starlight fibre-optic roof lining, and an upgraded Android-based multimedia system with Apple CarPlay. These features, along with the standard rear entertainment screens, make it a much more passenger-focused environment than the utilitarian base GLS trims.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

The Pajero leads rivals like the Toyota Prado in sheer value-for-money, offering a larger 3.8L engine and more luxury features at a significantly lower entry price on the used market. Its Super Select II 4WD system is a standout, allowing drivers to shift between 2H and 4H at speeds up to 100 km/h, a level of mechanical flexibility few competitors match. While the Nissan Patrol is larger, the Pajero’s narrower body and 11.4m turning circle make it far easier to navigate in tight Dubai or Riyadh city traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.8L V6 typically ranges between 13.5 and 15.2 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though heavy city traffic with full AC can increase these figures. Maintenance is highly affordable, with service intervals every 10,000 km and a vast network of authorized centers and independent specialists across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Pajero remains one of the most liquid assets in the GCC used car market, typically retaining approximately 65-68% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

The 3.8L MIVEC V6 engine provides a reliable 247 hp, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 10.8 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. Its off-road prowess is anchored by a 235mm ground clearance and a 700mm wading depth, making it perfectly suited for UAE wadi drives and soft sand dunes. The multi-mode 4WD system includes a rear differential lock and low-range gearing, providing the torque multiplication needed for challenging desert terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater features a versatile cabin where the third-row seats fold completely flat into the floor to maximize cargo space for family road trips. The GCC-spec climate control is exceptionally powerful, featuring dedicated rear AC vents and independent controls to keep all three rows cool during summer. Signature Edition touches like the suede starlight roof lining and leather-wrapped controls provide a more premium feel during long highway drives between Emirates.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this Signature Edition includes a comprehensive airbag system, Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). For high-speed highway safety, it features cruise control and a reinforced RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body construction. The inclusion of front and rear parking sensors paired with a high-definition reverse camera ensures ease of parking for a vehicle of this size.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a reliable, high-spec family SUV that can genuinely handle the desert, this low-mileage 3.8L Signature Edition represents the smartest balance of luxury and legendary durability available today.
