Summary

This 2022 Pajero GLS Highline offers a final-generation opportunity to own a legendary off-roader with remarkably low mileage for its age. Silver is one of the most resilient resale colors in the GCC, perfectly suited for the regional climate and long-term value retention. As the top-tier Highline trim, it delivers a more premium cabin experience than the standard GLS, making it an ideal choice for families who balance city commuting with weekend desert excursions. The 3.0L V6 is widely regarded as one of the most reliable powerplants in the region, supported by a parts and service network that spans every corner of the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2022 Pajeros

With just 62,000 km, this vehicle sits well below the average GCC annual usage of 25,000 km, representing significant mechanical longevity for the next owner. While many 2022 models served as heavy-duty fleet or high-mileage desert vehicles, this silver GLS Highline presents as a lightly used example in a high-demand resale color. Choosing a GCC-spec model over imported alternatives ensures full compatibility with regional cooling requirements and service center diagnostics.

GLS HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The Highline trim upgrades the ownership experience with essential GCC features including a power sunroof, premium leather upholstery, and an upgraded infotainment system with a rearview camera. It also features 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome exterior accents that distinguish it from the base GLX and standard GLS trims. For families, the Highline often includes the upgraded Rockford Fosgate audio system and dual-zone climate control as standard equipment.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

The Pajero remains a favorite over rivals like the Toyota Prado or Kia Mohave due to its Super Select II 4WD system, which allows for full-time 4WD on paved roads—a distinct advantage for stability during sudden rain or gravel transitions. Its 88-litre fuel tank provides a longer touring range than many modern crossovers, making it superior for cross-country drives between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. The Pajero also maintains a lower entry price in the used market while offering similar seating capacity and ruggedness.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L V6 typically averages 12.5–13.5 L/100km, which is standard for a full-size SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km, and Mitsubishi’s massive service footprint in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman keeps maintenance costs predictable and affordable. The Pajero enjoys exceptionally high liquidity in the used market, often retaining up to 80% of its value over the first three years due to its discontinued status and legendary reputation.

Performance & Capability

The 184 hp V6 is paired with a sophisticated Super Select II 4WD system, featuring a locking center differential and a dedicated low-range transfer case for serious sand driving. With 235 mm of ground clearance, it is purpose-built to navigate deep dunes and rocky wadis that would stop road-biased SUVs. On the highway, the independent suspension provides a stable and comfortable ride, even when fully loaded with seven passengers and gear.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring a third row that can be folded flat into the floor or removed entirely to maximize cargo space for road trips. Mitsubishi’s legendary A/C system is specifically engineered for 50°C summers, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all three rows stay cool. The cabin is further enhanced by leather seating and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, providing a durable yet comfortable environment for long-distance desert touring.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the GLS Highline includes Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), which is vital for maintaining grip on shifting desert sands. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and rear parking sensors with a camera to assist in tight city spaces. The body-on-frame construction provides an inherently robust safety cell, a hallmark of the Pajero's long-standing Dakar-inspired heritage.

The bottom line

This is a rare chance to secure a late-model, low-mileage Pajero in the preferred Highline trim, offering the perfect blend of GCC-proven reliability and high resale potential. It is the ultimate choice for the buyer who wants a rugged 4x4 that is as comfortable at the mall as it is in the Liwa dunes.
