Peugeot Partner LONG

Highlights

• 3,900 litres of cargo volume
• 1,000 kg maximum payload
• 7.1 L/100km combined fuel economy

Summary

This 2020 Peugeot Partner LONG offers a highly practical solution for businesses needing extended cargo capacity without the bulk of a full-sized van. Finished in resale-friendly white, this GCC-spec workhorse features the desirable three-front-seat configuration, maximizing utility for crew transport. While the mileage reflects active commercial use common in the region, the robust manual gearbox and petrol engine are well-suited for the demanding stop-start traffic of Dubai and Riyadh. As a LONG variant, it provides a significant advantage in load length over standard models, making it a competitive choice in the light commercial segment. For the GCC buyer, the balance of European efficiency and local regional cooling specifications makes this a reliable daily asset.

This Car vs Other 2020 Peugeot Partners

At 216,000 km, this vehicle has served as a dedicated commercial asset, typical for high-utilization logistics in the UAE. While higher than average passenger car mileage, these light commercial vehicles are engineered for high-duty cycles across the Emirates. The white exterior remains the most sought-after color for commercial resale, offering better heat reflection and easier branding for new owners.

LONG vs Lower Trims

The LONG trim adds essential length to the wheelbase and rear overhang, increasing total cargo volume to 3.9 cubic meters compared to the 3.3 cubic meters found in standard versions. This specific trim also features the Multi-Flex passenger bench, allowing for three occupants upfront or a flat-folding seat for transporting extra-long items through the bulkhead. These additions make it significantly more versatile for specialized trades compared to the entry-level short-body variants.

Partner vs Segment Rivals

The Peugeot Partner leads rivals like the Renault Kangoo and Volkswagen Caddy in load-through cleverness and cabin storage, offering over 110 litres of interior stowage space. Its 1,000 kg payload capacity is particularly competitive, often matching vehicles in the size class above. For long GCC highway runs, the Partner's refined cabin ergonomics and i-Cockpit layout provide a more car-like driving experience than more utilitarian competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 1.6L petrol manual averages around 7.1 L/100km, offering a cost-effective alternative to larger diesel vans. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km in the GCC to protect the engine from extreme heat and dust. While European vans generally depreciate faster than Japanese pickups, the Partner LONG maintains strong demand in the UAE's secondary SME market due to its specific dimensions and fuel efficiency.

Performance & Capability

With a maximum payload of 1,000 kg, this van is a heavyweight performer in a compact footprint. The 1.6L engine produces 110 hp, which is perfectly geared through the 5-speed manual transmission for low-end torque during heavy city deliveries. It maintains stable handling even when fully loaded, a critical factor for safety on fast-moving highways like the E11.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the three-seat configuration allows for a driver and two passengers, a rare and valued feature in this segment for small crews. The GCC-spec air conditioning system is designed to handle 45°C+ summer peaks, ensuring the cabin stays cool even during frequent door openings. The raised instrument cluster and compact steering wheel reduce driver fatigue during long shifts across the Emirates.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of active systems including ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). The high-strength steel bulkhead provides essential protection for the three occupants from shifting cargo. Additionally, front airbags and stability control come standard, providing peace of mind during heavy-traffic commuting.

The bottom line

Perfect for a growing UAE business or SME, this Partner LONG provides the maximum possible cargo space in the small van category with the reliability of a manual petrol powertrain.
