Summary

This 2021 Genesis GV80 Royal offers a sophisticated alternative to German luxury rivals, combining striking design with a powerful twin-turbo V6. Despite the higher mileage, its GCC specification and white exterior make it a highly practical choice for the region, where white is the premier color for heat management and resale value. The Royal trim is the flagship grade, providing an interior experience that competes directly with the most established luxury players in the Middle East. For a buyer looking for a high-spec, highway-proven executive SUV that stands out in Dubai or Abu Dhabi traffic, this listing represents a well-maintained entry into the modern Genesis lineup.

This Car vs Other 2021 GV80s

With 204,000 km, this vehicle has been a consistent highway performer, exceeding the average GCC annual mileage of 25,000 km. While the mileage is high for its year, it reflects the long-distance reliability Genesis has built into its first flagship SUV. The white exterior is a strategic advantage in the local market, ensuring both maximum cabin cooling during summer and the strongest possible value retention at resale.

ROYAL vs Lower Trims

The Royal trim sits at the top of the range, adding essential luxury features that lower grades lack, such as Nappa leather with G-Matrix quilting and the Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview. For GCC buyers, the addition of ventilated second-row seats and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor provides significant daily utility in extreme temperatures and tight city parking.

GV80 vs Segment Rivals

The GV80 competes with the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, leading with a larger 14.5-inch standard display and a more generous list of standard features for the price. Its 80-litre fuel tank is well-suited for long-distance cruising between emirates, offering competitive range compared to European rivals in the mid-size luxury SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5T V6 averages around 10.9 L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size on GCC highways. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km at authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC, where the brand has established a robust network. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains value better than imported American or European models, which often face warranty and cooling compatibility issues locally.

Performance & Capability

The twin-turbo V6 delivers a refined 375 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.5 seconds for effortless highway overtaking. The electronically controlled suspension uses a front camera to read the road ahead, pre-adjusting damping for speed bumps and uneven surfaces common in developing residential areas. While road-biased, its All-Wheel Drive system provides confident traction on gravel tracks and during occasional desert rain.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of quiet, featuring double-glazed soundproof glass and Active Noise Control to isolate the interior from road and wind noise during high-speed highway drives. The quad-zone climate control is specifically engineered to handle 45°C+ temperatures, ensuring all five passengers remain comfortable. Premium materials, including real wood trim and a microfiber suede headliner, elevate the executive feel of the interior.

Safety

This Royal trim includes a comprehensive safety suite with 10 airbags and advanced ADAS features like Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, which is vital for multi-lane GCC highways. It also features Highway Driving Assist II, combining adaptive cruise control and lane centering to reduce driver fatigue on long desert stretches. The inclusion of a Remote Smart Parking Assist allows the car to be moved in and out of tight spaces using the key fob.

The bottom line

This GV80 Royal is for the buyer who values high-end cabin refinement and V6 performance over low mileage, offering a flagship luxury experience at a price point that makes sense for a daily GCC commuter.
