Summary

This 2023 Genesis GV60 PERFORMANCE represents the cutting edge of electric mobility, offering a rare combination of supercar-level acceleration and boutique luxury in a versatile crossover body. With its mileage sitting well below the average for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC, this particular unit offers significant value for a buyer looking to transition into a high-performance EV without the initial depreciation hit of a brand-new showroom model. The black exterior is a highly sought-after choice in the regional used market, ensuring strong resale appeal and a timeless aesthetic that complements the model's futuristic design language. As the top-tier Performance trim, it outclasses most luxury rivals by including nearly every premium feature as standard, from the innovative Crystal Sphere shifter to ventilated seats essential for our climate. The most important consideration for a local buyer is the sheer efficiency and thermal management of the Genesis E-GMP platform, which has proven remarkably resilient during the intense summer months compared to early-generation EVs. Choosing this model means securing a vehicle that feels years ahead of traditional internal combustion competitors while benefiting from the growing charging infrastructure across the UAE.

This Car vs Other 2023 GV60s

When comparing this specific 2023 Genesis GV60 to others currently on the market in the GCC, the mileage is a standout factor. At 40,000 km, it has been driven approximately 20,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with, if not slightly lower than, the typical GCC annual average for a daily-driven luxury crossover. Many similar models used for long-range commuting between Emirates can easily exceed 60,000 km in the same timeframe, making this a mechanically fresh option for the next owner. The black paintwork is a strategic advantage in the local secondary market; unlike experimental or matte colors that can be difficult to color-match or maintain in our dusty environment, gloss black remains a staple of high-end resale value in Dubai and Riyadh. This vehicle has been maintained with the care expected of a premium performance EV, ensuring the battery chemistry and interior electronics remain in peak condition. For a buyer seeking the 2023 model year, this unit strikes the ideal balance between being thoroughly 'run-in' and maintaining the tight, rattle-free feel of a new car.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

Choosing the PERFORMANCE trim over the standard Advanced trim fundamentally changes the identity of the GV60. While lower trims are respectable commuters, the Performance variant unlocks a massive 490 hp output and the specialized 'Boost Mode' button on the steering wheel, which provides an instantaneous surge of power that is invaluable for quick overtaking on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. Beyond just raw speed, this trim adds an electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) and electronically controlled suspension with 'Road Preview,' a system that uses a front camera to scan the tarmac and adjust damping for speed bumps and road imperfections before you even hit them. Inside, the cabin is elevated with higher-grade Nappa leather and the spectacular 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, which is often an expensive option or unavailable on lower specifications. You also benefit from larger, more aggressive 21-inch alloy wheels and upgraded brakes that provide the necessary stopping power for such a high-output electric drivetrain. For the GCC buyer, the inclusion of the full vision roof and enhanced climate synchronization makes this trim the only logical choice for those who refuse to compromise on either speed or sophistication.

GV60 vs Segment Rivals

The Genesis GV60 competes in a crowded field against the Tesla Model Y Performance, the Audi Q4 e-tron, and the Volvo C40 Recharge, yet it carves out a unique niche through its focus on 'Athletic Elegance.' Unlike the Tesla, which prioritizes a minimalist and sometimes stark interior, the Genesis offers a rich, tactile cabin filled with physical buttons and premium materials that feel much more substantial during long drives across the Emirates. Compared to the Audi, the Genesis leads significantly in terms of standard technology and charging speeds; its 800V architecture allows it to charge from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes at a 350kW station, a feat most European rivals in this price bracket cannot match. While the Volvo offers a compact footprint, the GV60 provides a more spacious rear passenger experience, making it a better fit for families who need to transport adults or teenagers in comfort. Furthermore, the Genesis stands out with its unique biometric features, such as Face Connect and Fingerprint Authentication, offering a level of futuristic convenience that rivals are only just beginning to experiment with. It is a more bespoke, less 'mass-produced' feeling alternative to the segment leaders.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for the GV60 are remarkably low when compared to equivalent high-performance petrol SUVs. In the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh, the regenerative braking system not only extends the range but also significantly reduces wear on brake pads and discs, leading to fewer service visits. Maintenance intervals for EVs are generally wider and less costly than internal combustion vehicles, as there are no oil changes, spark plugs, or complex transmission fluids to manage. Genesis has established a strong service presence across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with dedicated luxury facilities that understand the specific needs of the E-GMP platform. Regarding resale value, the Performance trim traditionally holds its value better than base models in the GCC due to the high demand for 'full-option' vehicles among local buyers. While American-spec vehicles do not carry the same initial premium as GCC-spec units, the global nature of the Genesis warranty and the availability of parts through independent specialists in the region ensure that long-term ownership remains viable and cost-effective. You can expect a predictable depreciation curve that is competitive with other high-end electric crossovers in the regional market.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure for this GV60 is undoubtedly its 490 hp output, which enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in a blistering 4.0 seconds—putting it in the company of dedicated sports cars. This performance is delivered through a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system that constantly shifts torque between the front and rear motors to provide maximum grip, whether you are accelerating away from a stoplight or navigating a rain-slicked highway. The 'Boost Mode' provides a 10-second window of maximum power and torque, perfect for high-speed merging. Despite its focus on speed, the GV60 remains a capable crossover with enough ground clearance to handle suburban obstacles and gravel paths with ease. It features multiple drive modes, including a dedicated 'Drift Mode' for the enthusiast and an 'Eco' mode that optimizes the dual-motor setup for maximum range during cross-country trips between cities. The steering is precise and well-weighted, providing a sense of confidence that is often missing in heavier electric SUVs. This is a vehicle that feels as comfortable cruising at 140 km/h on the highway as it does darting through tight urban corridors.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the GV60 is a masterclass in modern luxury, centered around the 'Beauty of Open Space' philosophy. The five-seat layout provides ample legroom and headroom for all passengers, with a flat floor that enhances the feeling of roominess. For the GCC climate, the high-performance air conditioning and ventilated front seats are essential features that ensure comfort even when the outside temperature exceeds 45°C. The cabin is exceptionally quiet, thanks to extensive sound insulation and active noise cancellation that filters out tire roar and wind noise at highway speeds. One of the most striking interior features is the Crystal Sphere gear selector, which flips over to reveal the drive controls when the car is powered on—a piece of automotive theater that never fails to impress. The 12.3-inch digital cluster and matching infotainment screen are intuitive and responsive, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Storage is plentiful, with a floating center console that provides extra space for bags or electronics, making it an ideal environment for the daily commute or weekend family excursions.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the Genesis brand, and the GV60 Performance comes equipped with an exhaustive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, which is vital in busy city traffic, and Blind-Spot View Monitor, which displays a live video feed of your blind spot in the instrument cluster—a literal lifesaver on multi-lane GCC highways. The Highway Driving Assist II system combines adaptive cruise control with lane-change assist, making long-distance drives between Emirates significantly less fatiguing by maintaining centering and distance automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist allows you to move the car in and out of tight parking spaces using just the key fob, a feature that is incredibly useful in narrow mall parking garages. The vehicle also features a robust structural design with eight airbags, including a center-side airbag between the front seats to prevent occupant collision during a side impact. With its 5-star safety credentials and proactive monitoring systems, the GV60 offers total peace of mind for the safety-conscious family.

The bottom line

This Genesis GV60 PERFORMANCE is the perfect match for the tech-forward professional who wants supercar thrills without sacrificing the comfort and prestige of a luxury SUV. Given its low mileage and top-tier specification, this listing represents a prime opportunity to own one of the most awarded EVs on the market today.
