Summary

This Jaguar F-TYPE R is a compelling opportunity for enthusiasts, offering significantly lower mileage than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong appeal in the local market, while the high-output supercharged V8 ensures it stays ahead of most rivals on the highway. As a flagship trim, it brings a level of performance and interior refinement that defines the modern grand tourer. For a GCC buyer, this represents a chance to own a low-usage example of Jaguar's most potent coupe at a point where the initial steep depreciation of a luxury sports car has already occurred.

This Car vs Other 2021 F-TYPEs

With just 23,671 km on the odometer over 5 years, this vehicle has been driven less than half the distance of an average GCC-used car of the same age. This low usage suggests it was likely maintained as a second or weekend vehicle, preserving the mechanical integrity of the supercharged engine. While blue is not as common as white or silver in the region, its rarity adds a level of exclusivity that often attracts a premium from enthusiast buyers.

R vs Lower Trims

Choosing the R trim over the R-Dynamic or base models upgrades you to the high-performance 5.0L supercharged V8, featuring an electronic active differential with torque vectoring. Inside, the R adds Windsor leather performance seats and a dedicated 'R' branded interior with premium cabin lighting as standard. It also features a superior 380mm front brake system, providing the necessary stopping power to match its top-tier acceleration.

F-TYPE vs Segment Rivals

The F-TYPE R leads rivals like the Porsche 718 Cayman and base Chevrolet Corvette with its signature supercharged V8 exhaust note, often cited as one of the best-sounding engines in its class. Its 70-litre fuel tank provides a longer touring range for cross-emirate drives compared to smaller-capacity competitors. Additionally, the unique British design language offers a distinct aesthetic alternative to the more common German sports coupes found on UAE roads.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 5.0L V8 is approximately 11.3 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC stop-start traffic may see this rise. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 13,000 km or 12 months at authorized centers available across major GCC cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. As a European spec vehicle, it may see a 10-20% lower resale value compared to a GCC-spec equivalent, but this is often offset by the lower initial purchase price and high factory customization levels.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 3.7-second 0-100 km/h sprint, enabled by a 500 hp supercharged engine that delivers relentless power for high-speed highway overtaking. With a verified top speed of 300 km/h, this coupe is built for sustained performance on well-maintained regional highways. The automatic transmission is tuned for rapid shifts, providing a seamless transition from a comfortable cruiser to a focused performance machine at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is focused on the driver, featuring dual-zone climate control to manage high summer temperatures effectively. The Windsor leather seats provide excellent lateral support during spirited driving while remaining comfortable for long road trips between emirates. High-quality cabin insulation ensures a quiet environment at highway speeds, allowing the premium audio system to perform at its best despite the roar of the V8.

Safety

This trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring front and rear parking aids, a rear camera, and emergency brake assist as standard. The electronic active differential and torque vectoring systems provide enhanced stability on sandy or gravel-strewn road surfaces common in the region. Furthermore, the robust braking system ensures consistent performance even during the high-heat conditions of a GCC summer.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a buyer seeking supercar-level performance and a low-mileage pedigree without the premium of a GCC-spec price tag. It offers a rare combination of modern Jaguar technology and the raw character of a supercharged V8.
