Summary

This 2021 Platinum edition represents the final production year of the legendary 5.7L V8 powertrain, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item in the GCC. With 74,000 km, this vehicle has been driven well below the regional average of 25,000 km per year, ensuring its mechanical longevity. The White exterior is the premier choice for the UAE climate and commands the highest resale premiums in the local market. As the flagship luxury SUV, it offers a level of cabin isolation and V8 refinement that is becoming increasingly rare. For a GCC buyer, this is the perfect opportunity to own the most reliable generation of the LX at a fraction of its original cost.

This Car vs Other 2021 LX570s

At 74,000 km, this LX570 sits in a very favorable position compared to the typical 90,000-100,000 km average seen on GCC-market 2021 models. The White exterior is not only practical for managing interior heat but also ensures the fastest possible resale time in the UAE. Being a final-year production unit of this generation, it benefits from the ultimate refinement of the body-on-frame platform.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is the definitive luxury specification for the GCC, adding essential comfort features over the Prestige and Signature trims. It includes the 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, a factory-integrated refrigerator in the center console, and dual 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens. Crucially for our climate, it upgrades to semi-aniline leather with both heating and ventilation for the front and second-row seats.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover Vogue or BMW X7, the Lexus LX570 leads in long-distance autonomy thanks to its massive 138-litre dual fuel tank system. Its body-on-frame construction provides a level of durability in heavy desert sand that monocoque rivals cannot match. Furthermore, the Lexus maintains a significantly higher residual value across the GCC than its European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.7L V8 is renowned for its million-kilometer durability, though it typically consumes between 15.7 and 18.2 L/100km in GCC city traffic. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region (Al Futtaim, Al Sayer, etc.), parts are always readily available. The LX570 historically retains up to 65-70% of its value after three years, outperforming almost every other luxury SUV in the market.

Performance & Capability

The naturally aspirated 5.7L V8 delivers 381 hp and 530 Nm of torque, providing effortless highway overtaking and smooth linear power for desert excursions. Its advanced Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control allow the vehicle to navigate deep sand dunes with ease, while the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) keeps the ride composed on UAE highways. It also offers a substantial 3,500 kg braked towing capacity for those hauling boats or trailers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Japanese craftsmanship, featuring a spacious 8-seat configuration with power-folding third-row seats. The Four-Zone Climate Concierge is specifically engineered for 45°C+ temperatures, coordinating the vents, heated/ventilated seats, and steering wheel for optimal passenger comfort. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation ensure the V8 rumble remains a distant hum during long inter-emirate drives.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Lexus Safety System+, which includes Pre-Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert. The Platinum trim also features a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, which is invaluable for parking this large SUV in tight city malls. A total of 10 airbags come standard, providing comprehensive protection for all three rows of passengers.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for a family looking for the ultimate combination of V8 power and legendary reliability before the era of turbocharging took over.
