• Top speed of 250 km/h

Summary

This 2021 Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 offers a compelling blend of high-performance engineering and sleek four-door coupe styling. With exceptionally low mileage for its year, this vehicle presents a significant advantage in the GCC market where typical annual usage often exceeds 20,000 km. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable choice in the region, supporting strong resale prospects compared to more niche colors. As a performance-oriented alternative to traditional luxury sedans, it bridges the gap between executive comfort and track-ready power. For a GCC buyer, the standard all-wheel drive ensures composed handling during sudden seasonal rain or on sandy highway stretches.

This Car vs Other 2021 CLS53 AMGs

At just over 16,000 km, this unit has been driven significantly less than the typical 60,000–75,000 km expected for a 2021 model in the GCC. This lower wear translates to better mechanical longevity and a higher future trade-in value. While this is an American spec vehicle, its low mileage and popular Grey finish make it a versatile entry into the luxury performance segment.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG 53 is the range-topping performance tier for the CLS-Class, adding a substantial power increase over the standard CLS 450. It upgrades the driving experience with AMG-specific air suspension, performance-tuned all-wheel drive, and larger high-performance brakes. Inside, this trim introduces a 13-speaker Burmester surround-sound system and a 360° camera as standard, features that are often optional on lower specifications.

CLS53 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The CLS 53 AMG competes directly with the BMW 840i Gran Coupe and the Audi S7, leading with a highly sophisticated mild-hybrid turbocharged inline-six that balances immediate torque with efficiency. Its unique 4-door coupe silhouette offers a more aggressive aesthetic than the BMW while providing more standard cabin technology than many Audi equivalents. The EQ Boost system provides an additional burst of torque that is particularly useful for rapid overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 9.4 L/100km, performing efficiently during long-distance drives between emirates. Service intervals typically occur every 15,000 km, and while this is an American spec car, the extensive Mercedes-Benz specialist network across the UAE ensures parts and maintenance remain accessible. American spec vehicles generally depreciate slightly faster than GCC spec units, but this is offset by the significantly lower initial entry price and exceptionally low odometer reading.

Performance & Capability

The 435 hp engine delivers a refined yet potent 0–100 km/h sprint of 4.5 seconds, managed by a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission. The AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system continuously calculates the best torque distribution, providing immense grip on both well-paved city roads and wind-swept desert highways. Multiple drive modes allow the driver to transition from a comfortable executive cruiser to a sharp, responsive sports car at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a standard dual 12.3-inch digital cockpit that spans half the dashboard, offering one of the most immersive tech experiences in its class. With five seats and four doors, it remains practical for small families while the dual-zone climate control ensures the interior stays cool during peak GCC summer months. Acoustic glass and premium materials provide excellent insulation from road noise and external heat, making long cross-border drives effortlessly comfortable.

Safety

Standard safety features include blind-spot monitoring, which is essential for multi-lane highway driving, and forward collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking. The vehicle also features Mercedes' Pre-Safe system and Car-to-X communication, providing an advanced layer of awareness by sharing hazard information with other connected vehicles. A 360° camera system is included, making parking this long-wheelbase coupe simple in tight urban environments.

The bottom line

This is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking a low-mileage, high-performance AMG at a more accessible price point than a GCC-spec equivalent. It is perfectly suited for professionals who want a standout executive car that handles the daily commute and weekend highway trips with equal brilliance.
