Summary

This 2021 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG features the highly coveted Manufaktur Exclusive Plus trim, offering a level of interior bespoke finish that significantly elevates its resale appeal in the GCC. While the G-Class is a global icon, its popularity in this region makes it one of the most liquid luxury assets in the used market, especially in timeless black. This specific example bridges the gap between a daily executive cruiser and a weekend desert explorer, providing the mechanical hardware to handle deep sand with a cabin that remains silent on the highway. For the serious GCC buyer, the G63 represents a unique intersection of military-grade durability and uncompromising social status.

This Car vs Other 2021 G63 AMGs

At five years old with 147,000 km, this G63 has been a dedicated long-distance companion, likely covering frequent inter-emirate highway commutes. While the mileage is higher than the average weekend collector car, it demonstrates the mechanical reliability of the handcrafted V8 in the GCC climate. Black is the most sought-after color for the G-Wagon in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring the strongest possible value retention when it comes time to trade up.

MANUFAKTUR EXCLUSIVE PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Manufaktur Exclusive Plus trim is a substantial step above the standard G63, adding diamond-stitched Nappa leather that extends to the dashboard and door panels. GCC buyers will particularly value the inclusion of the Active Multicontour Seat package, which provides essential ventilation for summer months along with massage functions. This trim also features the superior Burmester surround sound system and the full 64-color ambient lighting suite as standard.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands alone against rivals like the Range Rover Autobiography and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT by utilizing a traditional body-on-frame construction and three independent locking differentials. While rivals prioritize unibody road manners, the G63 offers genuine heavy-duty off-road hardware that thrives in the dunes of Liwa or the Empty Quarter. It remains the only vehicle in its class to combine sub-5-second acceleration with a low-range transfer case for serious recovery and climbing tasks.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V8 typically averages around 15.5 L/100km on GCC highways, though city driving in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic will see this rise. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km or 12 months, with an extensive network of authorized Mercedes-Benz centers and specialized independent garages available across all major GCC cities. The G-Class historically holds its value better than almost any other European luxury SUV, depreciating roughly 10–12% annually compared to 15% for its peers.

Performance & Capability

The G63 delivers 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, allowing it to reach a top speed of 220 km/h with remarkable stability. Its selectable drive modes include 'Sand' and 'Rock' settings, which recalibrate the 9-speed transmission and traction control for GCC-specific terrain. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and 241 mm of ground clearance, it is as much a workhorse as it is a performance powerhouse.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for the extreme heat of the region, featuring a high-output 3-zone climate control system and deep cabin insulation. The Manufaktur package replaces standard plastics with hand-finished leather and microfibre, while the 12.3-inch dual widescreen cockpit provides intuitive navigation across the Emirates. Rear passengers enjoy dedicated climate vents and ample headroom, making it a viable choice for family road trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes a 360° camera system, which is vital for parking the boxy SUV in tight urban spaces. The suite includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC for long highway drives, Blind Spot Assist to monitor fast-moving traffic, and Pre-Safe technology. It also features a comprehensive airbag system and high-strength steel construction, ensuring maximum occupant protection in all driving conditions.

The bottom line

This is an ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking the ultimate GCC status symbol with a bespoke interior, at a price point that reflects its proven highway reliability.
