Highlights

• Hand-built 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine
• Three independent locking differentials standard

Summary

This 2021 G63 AMG represents a highly desirable sweet spot in the GCC used market, offering the current-generation W463A chassis and widescreen cockpit while the hand-assembled V8 remains the primary draw for local enthusiasts. With 40,000 km on the odometer, this Japanese-spec example sits well within the average annual mileage for a premium SUV in the region, having avoided the high-intensity desert use often found in local equivalents. The black-on-black color combination remains the most resilient for resale value across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring strong demand when it’s time to upgrade. While the G-Class is built for extreme durability, this model bridges the gap between a rugged military-derived 4x4 and a daily-drivable luxury cruiser for the city. For a buyer looking to bypass the high premium of brand-new units while securing the iconic 'one man, one engine' AMG performance, this listing is a compelling entry point.

This Car vs Other 2021 G63 AMGs

At 40,000 km, this vehicle has covered roughly 13,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the 20,000–25,000 km GCC average for luxury SUVs. The Japanese specification often indicates a car that has spent its life on well-maintained urban roads rather than traversing desert dunes. While it lacks the regional warranty of a GCC-spec unit, the lower entry price and meticulously kept interior typical of Japanese imports offer a distinct financial advantage for savvy buyers.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the G63 from the G500 adds the handcrafted 585 hp V8 biturbo engine and the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission for near-instant gear changes. This trim also standardizes the AMG Ride Control adaptive damping and the high-performance braking system with red calipers, features that are essential for handling the car's weight on high-speed UAE highways. Inside, the G63 gains the IWC-design analog clock and Nappa leather as standard, distinguishing it from the more utilitarian base models.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 stands alone against rivals like the Range Rover SVR and the Lamborghini Urus by maintaining a traditional body-on-frame construction and three locking differentials. While the Urus leads on track dynamics, the G-Wagon offers a 100-litre fuel tank that is better suited for long-distance cruising between Emirates. Its iconic boxy silhouette also provides superior headroom and a commanding road presence that remains unmatched in the luxury performance SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Expect real-world fuel consumption of approximately 13.2L/100km on combined cycles, though stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh will see this figure rise. The G63 has historically shown incredible value retention in the GCC, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European luxury counterparts due to its status as a regional icon. Service intervals follow the Mercedes-Benz 'Assyst Plus' system, alternating between A and B services every 15,000 km, with a wide network of authorized centers and specialized independent garages available throughout the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp V8 catapults this near-three-ton SUV to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power for the 140 km/h speed limits found on major GCC motorways. It remains a true off-roader at heart, featuring a low-range transfer case and 241 mm of ground clearance for weekend excursions. The selectable AMG exhaust system allows the driver to toggle between a refined city cruise and the signature deep V8 rumble that defines the AMG experience.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of tech, featuring the dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit that handles navigation and media with ease. Tri-zone climate control is standard, ensuring the rear passengers stay cool during the peak of the Gulf summer, while the 15-speaker Burmester surround-sound system provides exceptional audio clarity. Despite its rugged exterior, the interior is finished in high-grade materials that insulate the cabin effectively from external road noise and desert heat.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Adaptive Cruise Control (Distronic), Blind Spot Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist, which are invaluable for long desert highway drives. The vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree camera system to assist in parking its boxy frame in tight urban spots. Passive safety is bolstered by a heavy-duty steel frame and a full array of airbags, providing a level of physical security that few other SUVs can match.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who demands the ultimate status symbol without the new-car markup, this low-mileage black G63 AMG offers the perfect blend of performance, heritage, and value retention.
