Summary

This 2021 Maxima SV offers a compelling blend of executive style and high-output performance, featuring a smooth V6 engine that remains a rarity in this segment. As a GCC-spec vehicle in the region's most popular resale color, white, it represents a secure choice for long-term value retention. The mileage is well within the typical range for a highway-oriented sedan of its age in the UAE, suggesting consistent, stable use. Compared to four-cylinder rivals, this model provides a significantly more refined highway cruising experience, which is essential for long-distance travel across the emirates. For any local buyer, the combination of a proven powertrain and widespread parts availability makes this a low-risk, high-satisfaction ownership prospect.

This Car vs Other 2021 Maximas

With approximately 87,000 km, this Maxima has averaged roughly 22,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the GCC average for a flagship sedan primarily used for inter-city highway commutes. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better heat reflection during summer. Compared to higher-mileage examples often found in this category, this SV trim maintains a clean mechanical profile suitable for continued reliable use.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim serves as a significant upgrade in the 2021 lineup, featuring premium leather upholstery and heated front seats that are absent on the discontinued base models. It also includes essential GCC safety tech as standard, such as Adaptive Cruise Control and a Blind Spot Warning system, which are high-value features for navigating fast-moving highway traffic. The inclusion of the 8-inch touchscreen with full smartphone integration further differentiates this from entry-level specifications.

Maxima vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord lead on outright fuel economy, the Maxima stands apart with its standard 300 hp V6 engine, offering superior overtaking power on the E11 and E311 highways. Its 68-liter fuel tank provides extensive range for cross-country drives, outclassing many smaller-displacement competitors in grand-touring capability. The cabin insulation and 'Zero Gravity' seats also offer a level of refinement typically reserved for entry-level luxury brands.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this VQ-series V6 typically averages around 9.9 L/100km, which is efficient for its power class during highway cruising, though stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh will see higher figures. Service intervals are standard for Nissan at every 10,000 km, supported by a massive network of authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. This model enjoys strong value retention, typically depreciating at a slower rate than European executive sedans due to the high demand for Japanese V6 reliability in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The Maxima is rightfully marketed as a four-door sports sedan, capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds thanks to its potent 3.5-liter V6. The Xtronic CVT is specifically tuned for this high-torque application, providing seamless power delivery for quick highway merging and confident overtaking. It remains one of the most powerful front-wheel-drive sedans in its class, offering a stable and planted feel even at high cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the SV trim provides a driver-centric cockpit featuring dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, critical for maintaining passenger comfort in peak summer heat. The leather-appointed interior is designed for durability in the GCC climate, while the acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from road and wind noise during long drives. The five-seat layout is spacious enough for adult passengers in the rear, making it a viable family vehicle that doesn't sacrifice executive style.

Safety

This Maxima comes equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360, including Rear Automatic Braking and Lane Departure Warning, which are vital for safety on multi-lane GCC highways. The standard Intelligent Forward Collision Warning can monitor two cars ahead, providing an extra layer of protection during sudden highway stops. Additionally, six airbags and a high-strength body construction contribute to its top-tier safety reputation in the region.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Maxima SV is the ideal choice for a professional looking for a powerful, reliable, and high-resale sedan that handles long-distance UAE commutes with ease.
