• 625 hp from a 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8
• Harman Kardon 16-speaker audio system standard

Summary

This 2022 BMW X5 M Competition is a standout example of the F95 generation, offering a visceral 625 hp output that outclasses almost everything in the performance SUV segment. With 55,000 km, it has been driven just enough to ensure all mechanical systems are properly cycled while remaining well below the high-mileage thresholds typical for executive commuters in the GCC. The Grey exterior is a highly resilient and sought-after shade in the UAE, ensuring strong visual appeal and better heat management than darker tones. It bridges the gap perfectly between a dedicated track machine and a practical 5-seater for family life in the Emirates. For any buyer looking for the ultimate mix of BMW M engineering and daily GCC usability, this specific listing represents a balanced and high-spec opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 X5 Ms

At 55,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is remarkably average for a 4-year-old high-performance SUV in the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is the standard for highway-heavy use. Unlike many imports, this GCC-spec unit was built with cooling systems and filtration specifically designed for the region's extreme heat and dust. The Grey finish is one of the most practical choices for the local climate, showing less dust than black and holding a higher resale premium than experimental colors.

COMPETITION vs Lower Trims

The Competition trim is a significant mechanical step up from the base X5 M, increasing output to 625 hp and adding the M Sport exhaust system for a more aggressive acoustic profile. It features staggered 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels that improve high-speed stability on GCC motorways, along with track-tuned engine mounts. Inside, you get upgraded leather upholstery and 'Track' mode in the M Setup, features that enthusiasts in the region specifically look for.

X5 M vs Segment Rivals

The X5 M Competition remains the benchmark for driver engagement, often outperforming the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S in raw agility and 0-100 km/h sprints. While the Porsche Cayenne Turbo focuses on refinement, the BMW provides a more rear-biased, track-focused xDrive system that feels more athletic during spirited drives. Its 83-litre fuel tank is particularly advantageous for long-distance cross-emirate journeys, reducing the frequency of stops on the E11.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 4.4L V8 typically averages around 13-15 L/100km depending on how much time is spent in Dubai's stop-start traffic versus highway cruising. Service intervals are condition-based, though local specialists recommend oil and filter changes every 10,000 km to protect the twin-turbos from the summer heat. As a GCC-spec M car, it retains value far better than European or American imports, with the X5 range historically being one of the most resilient BMW models in the UAE used market.

Performance & Capability

With 625 hp and 750 Nm of torque, this SUV achieves 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, a figure that rivals many dedicated supercars. The M xDrive system and Active M Differential ensure that all power is translated into forward motion with incredible grip, even on sand-dusted road surfaces. The Adaptive M Suspension Professional allows you to toggle between a comfortable commute and a stiff, track-ready setup at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in ergonomics, featuring M Multifunction seats that provide exceptional support during fast cornering while remaining comfortable for 5 passengers. The four-zone automatic climate control is exceptionally powerful, a necessity for UAE summers, ensuring rear passengers stay as cool as those in the front. Tech highlights include the 12.3-inch digital cockpit and the 16-speaker Harman Kardon system, providing an immersive experience on long desert drives.

Safety

This X5 M Competition comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including the Driving Assistant Professional with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, which are invaluable for the high-speed traffic between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Standard safety features also include a 360-degree surround-view camera for effortless parking in tight city spots and a robust array of airbags. The M Compound brakes offer massive stopping power, providing confidence during high-speed highway driving.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who needs a family-friendly SUV without sacrificing supercar-slaying performance, this GCC-spec X5 M Competition is the premier choice in the current market.
