Summary

This 2022 BMW X6 M50i represents a high-performance opportunity in the GCC market, combining a potent V8 engine with the refined luxury of the xDrive platform. With 72,459 km on the clock, its usage is exactly in line with the expected 20,000–25,000 km annual average for a four-year-old vehicle in this region. The Grey exterior is a versatile and highly sought-after shade in the UAE, ensuring strong resale demand compared to less conventional colors. As the performance-oriented M50i trim, it bridges the gap between daily comfort and track-level power, making it a standout choice for those who find the standard six-cylinder models underpowered. For a GCC owner, this vehicle offers the essential mix of high-speed stability and aggressive styling that defines the luxury SUV segment.

This Car vs Other 2022 X6s

At 72,459 km, this vehicle sits perfectly at the average mileage mark for a four-year-old car in the GCC, suggesting consistent use and typical highway-heavy travel across the Emirates. The Grey exterior is one of the top-performing resale colors in the local market, offering better value retention than more niche paint options. While many examples available are the entry-level six-cylinder variants, this V8-powered M50i offers a significant mechanical advantage that is highly prized by local performance enthusiasts.

M50i vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the M50i trim adds the critical 4.4-litre V8 engine, producing a massive 530 hp compared to the 335 hp found in the xDrive40i. Beyond the power, this trim includes GCC-essential features like standard ventilated front seats and a powerful 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system. It also features M-specific enhancements such as the M Sport exhaust system, M Sport brakes with blue calipers, and an M Sport differential for superior handling during high-speed highway maneuvers.

X6 vs Segment Rivals

The X6 M50i leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 Coupe and Porsche Cayenne Coupe with its distinctive "Sport Activity Coupe" silhouette and aggressive M Performance tuning. Its 83-litre fuel tank provides a longer cruising range for cross-border GCC trips compared to several competitors in the performance SUV class. The BMW iDrive system remains the segment benchmark for ease of use, particularly useful in the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic environments of Dubai and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 10.7 L/100km, though this will increase in stop-start city traffic typical of major GCC hubs. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 to 12,000 km, with BMW's extensive authorized service network ensuring easy maintenance across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains a significant price premium and better buyer trust compared to imported American or European models. Expect a depreciation rate of roughly 12-15% annually, which is standard for a European luxury performance SUV in this region.

Performance & Capability

The headline 4.3-second 0–100 km/h sprint ensures effortless overtaking on the E11 and other major regional highways. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system works in tandem with an adaptive M suspension to provide exceptional grip on both paved roads and the occasional gravel track found near weekend desert retreats. With 750 Nm of torque available from low revs, the M50i delivers relentless acceleration that maintains its composure even in the extreme summer heat of the GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed to shield occupants from the harsh local climate, featuring a high-performance four-zone automatic climate control system that ensures rear passengers stay as cool as the driver. The interior is finished with premium materials, and the standard panoramic sunroof is treated to resist the intense overhead sun. Sound insulation is top-tier, effectively isolating the cabin from road noise during long-distance drives between emirates.

Safety

Standard safety tech for this trim includes the Active Driving Assistant, which features blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning—critical for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane highways of the GCC. The 360-degree camera and front/rear parking sensors are standard, making the vehicle's unique coupe-like proportions easy to manage in tight city parking. It also includes frontal collision warning and city collision mitigation for added peace of mind in heavy traffic.

The bottom line

This X6 M50i is the perfect match for a buyer who demands V8 performance and premium GCC-spec features without the extreme maintenance overhead of a full M Competition model. It is a well-balanced, high-status SUV that is ready for both professional commuting and weekend long-distance travel across the region.
