Summary

This 2022 BMW X6 xDrive40i xLine represents a sharp opportunity to own the definitive Sports Activity Coupe in its most recognized GCC configuration. Finished in White, the region's strongest resale color, this four-year-old vehicle offers a commanding presence that balances SUV capability with sleek, coupe-inspired styling. The xDrive40i powertrain is widely considered the sweet spot for the UAE, providing smooth six-cylinder power that handles high-speed highway cruising and stop-start city traffic with equal refinement. While the mileage is higher than the typical GCC annual average, it reflects a car that has been primarily used for long-distance driving, which is often easier on the engine and transmission than short, heat-intensive urban trips. For a buyer looking for a modern, tech-forward executive SUV with excellent road manners and iconic looks, this X6 is a highly relevant choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 X6s

At 164,212 km, this vehicle has covered significantly more distance than the 80,000–100,000 km typical for a four-year-old car in the GCC. However, in this market, high-mileage German SUVs often signal consistent highway use between emirates, and the White exterior ensures it remains one of the easiest colors to trade or sell later. This car offers a more accessible entry point into the G06 generation compared to lower-mileage examples while maintaining the same premium cabin and road presence.

xDrive40i xLine vs Lower Trims

The xLine trim provides a more rugged, sophisticated aesthetic compared to the base model, featuring satin aluminum exterior accents and unique 20-inch light alloy wheels that better suit the X6's proportions. Inside, this trim typically upgrades to Vernasca leather upholstery and includes the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with dual 12.3-inch displays as standard. It avoids the stiffer, sometimes less comfortable suspension found in the M Sport variants, making it a better daily driver for the varied road surfaces of the GCC.

X6 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X6 is frequently cross-shopped with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the Audi Q8. While the GLE focuses on a softer, more traditional luxury feel, the X6 leads with a more driver-centric cockpit and a ZF 8-speed transmission that is widely regarded as the best in class for responsiveness. Its 83-liter fuel tank is also a major advantage for long-distance drives across the UAE or Saudi Arabia, offering superior range compared to smaller-capacity rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L inline-six averages around 9.5–11.0 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though heavy use of the high-output air conditioning in summer can increase this. BMW's Condition Based Service (CBS) system typically schedules maintenance every 12,000–15,000 km in the UAE to account for extreme heat. While the X6 sees moderate depreciation of roughly 12–15% annually, its status as a GCC-spec vehicle with a high-demand color helps stabilize its value compared to import-spec alternatives.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivers a 0–100 km/h time of just 5.5 seconds, making it exceptionally capable for overtaking on fast-moving motorways like E11. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides intelligent power distribution that is particularly useful for maintaining stability on sand-drifted highways or during rare heavy rain. With a top speed of 250 km/h and multiple drive modes, it transitions seamlessly from a comfortable cruiser to a focused performance SUV.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a showcase of BMW's interior refinement, featuring a panoramic sunroof that adds an airy feel to the coupe-like silhouette. It is equipped with a high-performance multi-zone climate control system designed to reach optimal temperatures quickly, even after being parked in direct 45°C sunlight. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, while the 580-liter boot provides ample room for golf clubs or family luggage, expandable to 1,530 liters with the seats folded.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this xDrive40i includes BMW's Active Guard system with frontal collision warning and automatic emergency braking. For the GCC driver, the blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning are invaluable for navigating multi-lane highway traffic. The vehicle also features a comprehensive airbag suite and parking sensors as standard, ensuring a high level of protection and ease of use in tight urban environments.

The bottom line

Perfect for the executive or style-conscious buyer who values BMW's signature driving dynamics and wants a modern G06 X6 at a price point that reflects its highway-proven mileage.
