Summary

This 2022 Cadillac Escalade SPORT PLATINUM represents the absolute peak of American luxury SUVs, offering a presence on GCC roads that few other vehicles can match. With its powerful 6.2L V8 engine and the highest available trim level, it provides a sophisticated driving experience that excels during long-distance travel between emirates. The black exterior is the most sought-after color for this model in the regional used market, ensuring strong resale demand and a timeless aesthetic. Despite being a non-GCC spec vehicle, its massive air conditioning capacity and robust drivetrain are perfectly suited for the intense heat and high-speed highway conditions of the Middle East. This specific listing is a standout choice for those who require maximum passenger space without sacrificing the premium tech and prestige associated with the Platinum badge. For a serious buyer in the UAE or across the GCC, this vehicle offers a significant value proposition compared to a brand-new showroom model while retaining its cutting-edge features.

This Car vs Other 2022 Escalades

When comparing this 2022 Cadillac Escalade to others on the market, the primary factor is its mileage of 84,000 km. In the GCC, where annual driving often exceeds 20,000 km due to frequent highway commutes, this vehicle sits exactly where a well-maintained three-year-old car should be. While some lower-mileage examples may exist, they rarely come in the coveted SPORT PLATINUM trim, which remains the most desirable configuration for used buyers. The black-on-black color scheme is a high-demand combination in the region, often commanding a quicker sale and better price retention than lighter or less traditional colors. Because this is a 2022 model, it benefits from the latest independent rear suspension design, providing a significantly smoother ride than older generations. Choosing this specific unit allows a buyer to step into the flagship tier of the Cadillac lineup at a price point that reflects its fair usage while still offering many years of reliable service.

SPORT PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The SPORT PLATINUM trim is not just a package; it is a total transformation of the Cadillac Escalade experience that sets it far above the Luxury or Premium Luxury trims. Most notably, it adds the stunning AKG Studio Reference 36-speaker sound system, which provides a 360-degree immersive audio experience that is arguably the best in the automotive industry. Unlike lower trims, the Platinum features semi-aniline leather upholstery across all three rows, which stays cooler and feels significantly softer under the GCC sun. You also get the standard Magnetic Ride Control combined with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, which allows the car to glide over road imperfections that would be felt in trims with standard springs. Exterior-wise, the Sport Platinum replaces chrome with aggressive gloss-black accents and a unique mesh grille, giving it a modern, stealthy look that is highly prized by local enthusiasts. Additionally, this trim includes 16-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function, ensuring that even the longest drives across the desert are completed in total relaxation.

Escalade vs Segment Rivals

The Cadillac Escalade frequently goes head-to-head with the Lincoln Navigator and the Lexus LX 600 in the GCC luxury SUV market. Where the Escalade leads is in its revolutionary curved OLED display technology, offering 38 inches of total diagonal screen area with twice the pixel density of a 4K TV—a feature neither the Lincoln nor the Lexus can match. Its 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 provides a linear, dependable power delivery that many regional drivers prefer over the smaller turbocharged engines found in modern rivals. Space-wise, the Escalade offers a more usable third row and a more natural seating position for adults compared to the Lexus LX, making it the superior choice for large families. The sheer road presence and iconic status of the Cadillac brand in the Middle East also give it a social 'prestige' edge that is hard to quantify but very real at valet stands across Dubai and Riyadh. Furthermore, the cooling performance of the Cadillac's climate control system is legendary, designed to bring cabin temperatures down from 50 degrees to a comfortable level faster than most European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a 6.2L V8 Cadillac Escalade in the GCC is a manageable experience given the regional fuel prices and the widespread availability of high-octane petrol. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 14.7 L/100km on the highway, though city driving in stop-start traffic will naturally see this figure rise. As this is a non-GCC spec vehicle, buyers should be aware that while the mechanical parts are largely identical to local versions, the official regional warranty may not apply, which is factored into the more attractive purchase price. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and there is a very strong network of independent specialists across the UAE and Saudi Arabia who are experts in GM's small-block V8 engines. This model year and trim combination tend to depreciate at roughly 12-15% annually, which is standard for the luxury SUV segment, but its popularity ensures it remains a highly liquid asset. Parts availability is excellent, with most components shared across the GM platform, meaning maintenance doesn't require the long wait times often associated with rarer European brands.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the 420 hp 6.2L V8 engine, which produces 623 Nm of torque, allowing this massive SUV to reach 100 km/h in just about 6 seconds. This power is essential for confident overtaking on the E11 or other fast-moving GCC highways, where the 10-speed automatic transmission ensures shifts are nearly imperceptible. The All-Wheel Drive system provides exceptional stability during heavy rain or on sandy coastal roads, while the electronic limited-slip differential helps manage power during spirited driving. With a towing capacity of over 3,600 kg, it is more than capable of hauling large boats or trailers for weekend trips to the coast. The ground clearance and sophisticated air suspension allow you to navigate gravel tracks and desert dunes with ease, though its primary strength is high-speed cruising. Drive modes allow the pilot to sharpen steering and suspension response, making this 5-door giant feel surprisingly agile for its size in urban environments.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Escalade is a sanctuary designed to isolate passengers from the outside world. The 7-seat configuration features the highly desirable second-row captain's chairs, which provide a 'first-class' experience for rear passengers and easier access to the third row. Each seat is ventilated and heated, a crucial feature for the GCC summer where leather surfaces can become intensely hot. The cabin is filled with premium materials including exotic wood inlays and stainless steel speaker grilles, creating a tactile sense of quality. Rear-seat entertainment screens ensure that children stay occupied during long cross-border drives, while the tri-zone climate control allows everyone to set their own perfect temperature. Modern noise-canceling technology and acoustic laminated glass mean that even at 140 km/h, the cabin remains quiet enough for easy conversation. The storage capacity is equally impressive, with a deep center console that can often be equipped with a refrigerator unit to keep drinks cold during the height of July.

Safety

Safety in the 2022 Escalade SPORT PLATINUM is comprehensive, featuring Cadillac's most advanced driver assistance suite as standard equipment. It includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Reverse Automatic Braking, and a Rear Camera Mirror that provides a wide-angle unobstructed view of what is behind you. For the long, straight highways of the GCC, the Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control significantly reduce driver fatigue and improve safety margins. Blind Spot Monitoring is particularly helpful on the multi-lane roads of Dubai, where smaller cars can easily be missed from such a high driving position. The vehicle also features a 360-degree High Definition Surround Vision system, making parking this large SUV in tight mall spaces a simple task. Night Vision is an available highlight on this trim, using infrared technology to detect pedestrians or large animals on unlit desert roads well before they are visible to the naked eye.

The bottom line

For the executive or family man who wants the absolute best in American engineering and luxury, this black 2022 Escalade SPORT PLATINUM is an unbeatable choice. It offers a flagship interior and the best audio system on the market today, making it a high-value opportunity for a buyer looking to make a statement on the road.
