Summary

This 2022 Fiat 500 Lounge represents the ultimate urban companion for the GCC, offering a 1.4L engine that provides a noticeable power advantage over the base 1.2L variants often found elsewhere. With its black exterior maintaining strong resale appeal and a mileage that is lower than the typical 25,000 km annual average for the region, this listing is a standout for those seeking a stylish daily driver. The Lounge trim elevates the experience with premium cabin finishes and essential tech that makes navigating city traffic effortless. For a GCC buyer, this model provides the iconic Italian aesthetic paired with mechanical simplicity that is well-supported by local service networks.

This Car vs Other 2022 500s

With 63,475 km, this vehicle sits below the typical 75,000 km mark expected for a three-year-old car in the high-mileage GCC market. While many 2022 models in the region feature the smaller 1.2L powertrain, this unit carries the 100 hp 1.4L engine, offering better highway overtaking capability. The black finish is a high-demand choice in the UAE and wider GCC, ensuring it remains a liquid asset for future resale.

LOUNGE vs Lower Trims

The Lounge trim is a significant step up from the base Pop and Cult variants, adding 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome exterior accents that define the car's premium look. Inside, you benefit from upgraded upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated controls, and a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen with smartphone mirroring. Crucially for the GCC climate, it includes cruise control and rear parking sensors as standard, features often missing on lower-spec models.

500 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mini Cooper or the Suzuki Swift, the Fiat 500 leads with its unmistakable retro-modern design and ease of parking in dense areas like Dubai Marina or Downtown Riyadh. While rivals may offer more rear legroom, the Fiat's 9.3-meter turning circle makes it the most agile vehicle in its class for tight city maneuvers. Its 1.4L naturally aspirated engine is also simpler to maintain long-term in high-heat conditions compared to smaller turbocharged competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.4L engine averages approximately 5.8 L/100km, offering excellent efficiency during the stop-start traffic typical of UAE commutes. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a wide network of authorized service centers and independent Italian car specialists across the region. The Fiat 500 holds its value remarkably well in the compact segment, typically seeing depreciation of just 12-15% annually, outperforming many non-European rivals in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The 1.4L 4-cylinder engine delivers 100 hp and 131 Nm of torque, which is perfectly suited for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the Emirates. It reaches a top speed of 182 km/h, providing a stable and confident feel even at cruising speeds between major cities. The automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency, ensuring smooth power delivery without the complexity of modern dual-clutch systems that can struggle in extreme summer heat.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Lounge trim offers a surprisingly airy feel thanks to the large glass area and ergonomic seat design that accommodates four passengers. The air conditioning system is robust enough to handle the 45°C+ GCC summers, cooling the compact cabin significantly faster than larger SUVs. Storage is optimized for city life, with 185 litres of boot space expanding to 550 litres when the 50/50 split-folding rear seats are utilized for shopping trips or gym gear.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, which was a segment-first. Standard features include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Holder for easy starts on inclines, and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) to maintain traction on sandy road surfaces. The vehicle's compact footprint is complemented by a 5-star Euro NCAP safety heritage, providing peace of mind for both highway commutes and city errands.

The bottom line

Perfect for the stylish professional or as a second city car, this 1.4L Lounge offers the best balance of Italian flair and GCC-specific practicality in a well-maintained, low-mileage package.
