Summary

This GCC-spec 2022 GMC Yukon Denali offers a commanding presence in Onyx Black, a high-demand resale color that perfectly suits its executive profile. As the flagship trim, it provides a significant luxury upgrade over the SLT and AT4, featuring the more powerful 6.2L V8 and a uniquely refined interior. While its mileage reflects active use, these highway-ready cruisers are engineered for the vast distances of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintaining their mechanical integrity far better than city-bound rivals. For a GCC buyer, this represents the sweet spot of American full-size luxury, offering massive eight-seat utility without the steepest early-years depreciation.

This Car vs Other 2022 Yukons

With 142,000 km, this Yukon has been utilized for the long-distance highway commutes typical of large SUV owners in the GCC, placing it slightly above the average yearly mileage for its age. However, the black-on-black color combination remains one of the strongest for resale value in the local market, ensuring it remains highly desirable for future buyers. Its GCC specification is a critical advantage, ensuring the cooling systems and warranty-friendly service history meet local requirements.

DENALI vs Lower Trims

The Denali is the only trim to feature the potent 420 hp 6.2L V8 engine as standard, providing a significant performance boost over the 5.3L unit found in the SLE and SLT. Beyond the engine, this flagship trim adds the 15-inch multi-color Head-Up Display, a Denali-exclusive interior design with authentic wood trim, and the Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension which is not standard on lower road-biased trims. It also includes up to 13 available camera views, providing superior visibility for tight parking in Dubai or Riyadh.

Yukon vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Yukon Denali offers a more premium cabin environment with higher-grade materials and a more sophisticated suspension setup as standard. Against the Nissan Patrol, the Yukon leads with a more modern 10.2-inch infotainment system and a larger standard fuel tank at 91 litres, supporting long desert highway stretches between Emirates. Its 10-speed automatic transmission provides a smoother cruising experience at high highway speeds than many of its rivals' older gearboxes.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.2L V8 typically averages around 14.7 L/100km, though this fluctuates based on heavy air conditioning use during the GCC summer. The Yukon benefits from one of the strongest service networks in the region, with authorized centers widely available across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait. While large V8 SUVs face higher fuel costs, the Denali trim retains its value exceptionally well in the used market, typically outperforming its sibling trims after the three-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 420 hp V8 delivers an impressive 624 Nm of torque, allowing this eight-seater to handle highway overtaking and heavy towing with ease. The standard Four-Wheel Drive system and Magnetic Ride Control adapt to road surfaces 1,000 times per second, ensuring maximum comfort even on uneven gravel or sand-blown roads. With a braked towing capacity of approximately 3,629 kg, it is perfectly suited for weekend trips to the desert or hauling boats to the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true eight-seater, featuring ventilated and heated front seats that are essential for the GCC climate. Tri-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain cool during peak summer heat, while the acoustic-laminated glass keeps the interior remarkably quiet at highway speeds. The power-sliding center console and Bose premium audio system further enhance the executive feel for long-distance family travel.

Safety

This Denali comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Front and Rear Park Assist. The High-Definition Surround Vision camera is particularly valuable for navigating a vehicle of this size through busy city traffic, while the Rear Pedestrian Alert adds an extra layer of security in residential areas. These active systems, combined with a robust airbag suite, provide top-tier protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

This Yukon Denali is the ideal choice for a large family or executive seeking maximum presence and V8 power without the new-car price tag. Given its high resale-value color and GCC-ready cooling specs, it remains a strategic purchase in today's market.
