• 3,629 kg braked towing capacity
• Seven seats with second-row captain chairs

Summary

This 2022 GMC Yukon Denali represents the absolute peak of American full-size luxury, specifically tailored for the high-temperature environment of the GCC. With the larger 6.2L V8 engine, it offers a refined power delivery that rivals smaller luxury sedans while maintaining the commanding road presence typical of a heavy-duty SUV. This specific vehicle’s mileage is standard for a high-usage GCC family cruiser, indicating it has been utilized primarily for the long-distance highway travel it was engineered for. The red exterior is a bold, premium choice that distinguishes itself from the common sea of white and black SUVs, yet remains a high-value color for resale in the local market. For a buyer in the UAE, the main consideration is the vehicle’s exceptional cooling efficiency and superior cabin insulation, ensuring absolute comfort during the peak of summer.

This Car vs Other 2022 Yukons

At 135,700 km, this Yukon sits at an average mileage for a 2022 model in the GCC, where annual driving typically reaches 25,000 km due to inter-emirate highway commutes. Unlike many higher-mileage examples used for commercial transport, this Denali’s wear profile is consistent with a private family vehicle. The Red exterior is a rarer, high-demand choice in the secondary market, often commanding a faster sale than more common neutral tones.

DENALI vs Lower Trims

The Denali is the only trim to feature the 6.2L V8 as standard, providing a 65 hp advantage over the 5.3L found in the SLT and SLE. It further distinguishes itself with Magnetic Ride Control for superior highway composure and an exclusive interior featuring open-pore wood and a uniquely styled instrument panel. Additionally, you get a larger 15-inch Head-Up Display and the premium Bose 14-speaker Surround with CenterPoint, features not found on base configurations.

Yukon vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Nissan Patrol V8, the Yukon leads in interior cargo versatility and third-row legroom, making it the preferred choice for large families. While Japanese rivals lean toward off-road geometry, the Yukon’s 10-speed automatic and 6.2L engine offer a smoother, more 'executive' highway experience across long GCC desert stretches. Its 3,629 kg towing capacity also beats most monocoque crossovers in the luxury segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 6.2L V8 averages approximately 14.7L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this mass during long-distance GCC cruising. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km at authorized GMC centers, which are extensively available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The Denali trim historically holds the highest value retention among the Yukon lineup, typically depreciating at a slower rate than European luxury SUVs in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 624 Nm of torque, allowing this massive SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.6 seconds. This effortless acceleration is vital for merging onto fast-moving UAE highways like the E11 and E311. Equipped with a two-speed transfer case and an electronic limited-slip differential, it remains highly capable for weekend desert escapes or towing heavy marine equipment to the coast.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a premium 7-seat layout with second-row captain chairs, creating a first-class walkthrough experience to the rear. GCC-essential features include high-output triple-zone climate control and ventilated front seats that quickly combat extreme external heat. The Denali-exclusive 'Fractal' stitching and authentic wood trim provide a level of refinement that isolates passengers from road noise and desert crosswinds during long drives.

Safety

This Denali comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and a 360° Surround Vision camera that makes parking this large SUV simple in tight city spaces. Adaptive Cruise Control is standard, providing a massive reduction in driver fatigue during long desert highway journeys. Additionally, the standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Zone Monitoring are indispensable for navigating multi-lane highway traffic in the GCC.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs the scale of a truck with the soul of a luxury limousine, this GCC-spec Denali is the most logical choice. Its combination of the range-topping engine and a high-demand color makes it a standout opportunity in the current used market.
