Summary

This 2022 GMC Yukon SLE offers a compelling opportunity for families seeking a modern, full-size SUV that bridges the gap between rugged capability and long-distance comfort. While listed with average mileage for the GCC market, its Onyx Black exterior remains a top-tier choice for resale value in the region. The SLE trim provides a sophisticated entry point into the Yukon lineup, featuring the latest independent rear suspension for a refined ride across the Emirates. For the GCC buyer, this V8 workhorse delivers the essential combination of massive cabin volume and the reliable power needed for both school runs and cross-border road trips.

This Car vs Other 2022 Yukons

With 94,000 km, this vehicle reflects typical highway usage for a large SUV in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km. Its Onyx Black finish is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly aiding value retention. As an American-spec model, it offers a well-maintained alternative to local units, though buyers should confirm service history compatibility with local authorized centers.

SLE vs Lower Trims

The SLE serves as the refined foundation of the Yukon range, including the 10.2-inch premium infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It adds essential GCC features like the HD Rear Vision Camera and Hitch Guidance that are often missing on base commercial trims. While higher trims add leather and ventilation, the SLE’s durable cloth interior is often preferred by families for its ability to stay cooler under the direct summer sun.

Yukon vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Sequoia or Ford Expedition, the Yukon leads with a more versatile 8-seat configuration and superior 722-litre boot space behind the third row. Its 5.3L V8 is a proven powertrain for the region’s extreme heat, offering more natural aspiration reliability than the smaller turbocharged units found in some competitors. The massive 91-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops during long desert highway hauls between Dubai and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 14.7 L/100km combined, reflecting the stop-start nature of city traffic and efficient cruising on 120 km/h highways. Maintenance follows a standard 10,000 km interval, with a wide network of specialized American automotive centers across the UAE and GCC ensuring competitive parts pricing. The Yukon maintains one of the strongest resale profiles in the full-size SUV segment, typically depreciating slower than its European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 5.3L V8 produces a verified 355 hp and 519 Nm of torque, allowing for confident overtaking on the E11 even when fully loaded. With a braked towing capacity of 3,720 kg, it is perfectly suited for hauling boats or trailers for weekend getaways. The selectable four-wheel-drive system provides the necessary traction for soft sand excursions and gravel tracks common in the region’s wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC logistics, featuring a genuine three-row layout that comfortably seats eight adults. A powerful tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents ensures all passengers remain cool during the peak summer months. Sound insulation is a highlight, utilizing acoustic laminated glass to keep the cabin quiet during high-speed highway commutes across the Emirates.

Safety

Standard safety features on the SLE trim include Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, providing essential protection on busy multi-lane highways. The Yukon also features a comprehensive suite of airbags and Stability Control optimized for large vehicle dynamics. These active systems are particularly valuable during the high-speed, high-density traffic conditions typical of major GCC cities.

The bottom line

This Yukon SLE is an ideal match for a large family looking for a dependable, black-on-black V8 cruiser that offers massive utility and strong future resale value in the Middle East.
