Summary

This 2022 Honda Accord Sport is a standout choice in the GCC used market, offering a perfect balance between mid-range luxury and low-mileage reliability. Its silver exterior is widely considered one of the best colors for heat reflection and long-term resale value in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine provides a punchy 198 hp, ensuring effortless overtaking on high-speed highways like the E11 while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency. For a GCC buyer, this specific trim offers the aesthetic and handling upgrades of a performance sedan without the higher running costs of a 2.0-litre engine. It represents a secure, high-utility investment for anyone needing a refined executive commuter that handles the regional climate with ease.

This Car vs Other 2022 Accords

With just 57,000 km, this Accord sits well below the average GCC annual usage, which often reaches 25,000 km per year. The silver finish is a strategic advantage, consistently holding higher resale value in the UAE compared to darker shades. Being a GCC-spec model, it features a cooling system and AC configuration specifically engineered to handle the region's 45°C+ summer peaks.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The Sport trim significantly upgrades the driving experience over the base LX, most notably through 19-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. You also gain a much-improved 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an 8-speaker audio setup and a 12-way power driver's seat, features that add substantial comfort during long inter-emirate drives.

Accord vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Camry, the Accord offers a more modern turbocharged powertrain and a class-leading 570-litre boot, providing significantly more room for family trips or airport runs. While the Nissan Altima competes on tech, the Accord's Honda Sensing safety suite is widely regarded as one of the most reliable and least intrusive ADAS platforms for highway cruising.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.5L turbo engine is highly efficient for GCC conditions, averaging approximately 5.4 to 6.6 L/100km depending on driving style. Honda's extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensures parts are always available and maintenance is straightforward. The Accord consistently ranks among the top three sedans for value retention in the GCC, typically losing only 8-12% annually.

Performance & Capability

Generating 198 hp and 260 Nm of torque, this sedan delivers smooth, linear acceleration that is ideal for the fast-paced traffic of Riyadh or Dubai. The Sport-tuned chassis and larger 19-inch wheels provide a more planted feel at highway speeds compared to the base model. With a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 8.0 seconds, it offers more than enough performance for confident merging and overtaking.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is remarkably spacious, featuring immense rear legroom that rivals cars from the luxury segment above it. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, ensuring the front and rear passengers stay cool during the peak summer months. The inclusion of noise-canceling technology helps keep the interior quiet, even at high cruising speeds on open desert roads.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus with the standard Honda Sensing suite, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Collision Mitigation Braking. These features are particularly valuable for avoiding fatigue during long drives between cities. Additionally, the car is equipped with 8 airbags and a multi-angle rearview camera to ensure maximum protection and ease of parking in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

For the professional or family buyer who wants a low-mileage, GCC-ready sedan with modern tech and high resale potential, this Sport trim Accord is the smartest balance available today.
