About the Honda CR-V
Honda’s first actual take on the SUV market and made its worldwide debut in 1995 as a concept and 1997 as a street legal machine. With its spacious interior, drivers around the world have taken a liking to the CR-V. Over the years, it's morphed from a boxy eye sore to quite a curvaceous SUV an in 2017; the brand is to spruce up the interior and exterior once again keeping the CR-V in check with its rivals.
1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 Honda CR-V in Dubai, UAE
In its first generation, the Honda CR-V moves around with boxy exterior and roomy interior. Only one trim level is available in the early years, LX. These models are equipped with fabric seats, radio tuner, cassette player and a chrome grille. Optional extras include roof rails, spoiler and a CD player. A picnic table stowed in the boot is available in select models.
Later years have EX trims that include anti-lock brakes, 15-inch and all the features of the LX.
1999 models sport a different look to the early years as Honda applied a mild facelift.
Power comes from a choice of two four-cylinder petrol motors with 2-litre displacements. Both the manual and automatic gearboxes are available and power the front wheels as standard or all four of them.
In 2011, the XF received a minor refresh which includes front and back styling cues from the Jaguar C-XF concept car. Adaptive cruise control and new interior trim were added to the list of options.

2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Honda CR-V in Dubai, UAE
In its second generation, the Honda CR-V returned with a new look both inside and out. Options are now plentiful compared to previous models, and it’s as nimble as it ever was.
Base options include a CD player, radio tuner, fabric seats, powered accessories, adjustable steering column, keyless entry, air conditioning and supposedly a foldaway picnic table. Alternative options include a moonroof, cruise control, alloy rims and leather upholstery for the five seats.
In 2005, the CR-V received a minor refresh which is evident at the front.
2.4-litre four cylinder motors are stock in GCC will other countries have various other displacements. All-wheel drive is also standard here whereas other territories have front wheel drive. Automatic gearboxes take up the majority of the market, with manual boxes being available too.

In its third generation, the Honda CR-V grow slightly inside as the exterior receives a major overhaul includes a new front end, lights, rim designs and rear end.
Interior options both standard and extras remain identical to the previous edition with the exception of heated seats, media inputs, keyless entry, roof rails, adaptive headlights, xenons and alloy rims.

2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Honda CR-V in Dubai, UAE
In its fourth generation, the Honda CR-V returns with an all new look once again. With a larger front grille, new light housings not to mention the rear end which is rounder in appearance. Compared to the previous models.
Now available in two trims LX and EX, each brings their own unique flavour to the market. LX models are equipped with 17-inch alloys, ABS, mirror mounted indicators, stability assist, front airbags and AUX inputs. EX models are available with fabric seats or leather along with fog lights, sunroof, Bluetooth, digital air conditioning and a reverse camera. Optional extras include side airbags and powered seats.
The previous generations 2.4-litre four cylinder motor returns mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive is stock with all wheel drive being available as an optional extra. Manual transmissions are available in import vehicles and a quite rare in GCC markets.

2017 Honda CR-V in Dubai, UAE
2017 Models are set to launch officially in December 2016 at least in the USA. With complete redesign not only to the interior but the exterior as well. Based on the Honda Civic platform, the CR-V borrows many of the updates the Accord and Civic have received in the past year including the headlights and front bumpers.
Options now include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot mirrors, rear cross traffic alert, auto high beam, LED daytime running lights, electronic parking brake, hands-free liftgate, 17-inch alloys, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 7-inch display and LED headlights.
Base models are available with a 2.4-litre petrol motor mated to a CVT powering the front wheels. Higher trim levels pack a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit also mated to a CVT but powering all four wheels.
Honda's latest offering of the CR-V is not available in the GCC just yet.
