Jeep Grand Cherokee OVERLAND

Highlights

• Quadra-Lift air suspension with up to 276 mm ground clearance
• Ventilated front seats standard
• Dual-pane panoramic sunroof standard

Summary

This 2022 Grand Cherokee Overland represents a compelling balance of low mileage and high-tier luxury, having covered just 44,000 km—well below the typical GCC average for its age. The fifth-generation redesign introduced a significantly more refined cabin, and in this Overland trim, it offers premium features like Nappa leather and advanced air suspension that are often optional on lower trims. Finished in Black, the most sought-after resale color in the UAE, this SUV maintains its aesthetic and market value exceptionally well. It bridges the gap between a family-oriented road cruiser and a capable weekend desert explorer, making it one of the most versatile choices for the local market. For a buyer seeking the updated platform with a high-spec interior without the new-car price tag, this listing is a standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 Grand Cherokees

With only 44,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 60,000–75,000 km expected for a three-year-old SUV in the highway-heavy GCC environment. As a 2022 model, it benefits from the latest WL platform redesign, offering modern technology and improved refinement over the older WK2 generation still found in the used market. The Black exterior is the top-performing resale color across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring this specific unit remains highly liquid for future trade-ins.

Overland vs Lower Trims

The Overland trim is a major leap above the Limited, most notably adding the Quadra-Lift air suspension system that allows for adjustable ride height—a critical feature for navigating deep sand or high curbs in the city. Inside, it replaces standard leather with premium Nappa leather and adds front-seat ventilation, a necessity for the GCC summer that is rarely standard on base models. It also includes the expansive dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a premium 9-speaker Alpine audio system as standard equipment.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Ford Explorer offer more seats, the Grand Cherokee Overland leads in off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case that most road-biased crossovers lack. Compared to the Toyota Prado, the Jeep offers a more sophisticated monocoque chassis that provides superior high-speed stability on the E11 and E311 highways. Its Uconnect 5 infotainment system is widely considered one of the most intuitive in the segment, outclassing the older interfaces found in many Japanese competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is a staple engine in the GCC, known for its reliability in extreme heat and compatibility with standard fuel grades available across the region. Maintenance is supported by an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with recommended intervals typically every 10,000 km or 6 months. While European luxury SUVs tend to depreciate at 15–18% annually, the Grand Cherokee Overland typically holds its value better, hovering around 12% annual depreciation due to its high demand in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

The Quadra-Lift air suspension is the highlight here, providing a maximum ground clearance of up to 276 mm for serious off-roading while automatically lowering at highway speeds to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. The 3.6L V6 delivers smooth, linear power suitable for overtaking on long desert roads, while the Selec-Terrain system allows the driver to toggle between Sand/Mud, Snow, and Auto modes. With a braked towing capacity of approximately 2,800 kg, it is also highly capable of hauling jet skis or trailers for weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The Overland cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system paired with factory-standard ventilated front seats to combat the summer heat. Acoustic glass and active noise cancellation create a serene environment, insulating passengers from wind noise during high-speed travel between emirates. The five-seat layout ensures massive boot space, offering over 1,000 liters of cargo capacity behind the second row—perfect for family road trips or large shopping hauls.

Safety

Standard safety on the Overland trim is comprehensive, featuring a full ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, which is invaluable for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. It also includes Active Lane Management, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. For parking in tight urban spaces, the 360-degree camera and rear cross-path detection provide excellent visibility that many rivals only offer as an optional package.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs a luxury SUV that is equally at home at a valet stand as it is on a desert trail, this low-mileage Overland is the ideal choice. It offers the high-spec features of the new generation at a significant value compared to a new showroom unit.
