Summary

This 2022 Kia K5 EX is a standout in the mid-size sedan segment, offering a sophisticated alternative to mainstream Japanese rivals with its bold fastback styling. With a 4-year age and 74,000 km, it has been driven approximately 18,500 km per year, which is comfortably below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the UAE and wider GCC market. The White exterior is highly desirable in the region, ensuring maximum heat reflection and maintaining the strongest possible resale value. Powered by a reliable 2.0L engine paired with a smooth automatic transmission, it strikes an ideal balance between daily efficiency and highway composure. For a GCC buyer seeking a modern, feature-rich commuter that remains under factory-standard durability expectations, this K5 is a compelling choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 K5s

With 74,000 km over 4 years of use, this K5 has been driven significantly less than the 80,000–100,000 km typically expected for a car of this age in the GCC market. This lower-than-average usage preserves both mechanical longevity and interior condition, making it a higher-tier option for used buyers. The White paint is the most practical choice for the region's climate and consistently commands quicker turnarounds in the pre-owned market.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base LX, most notably adding a standard panoramic sunroof and high-quality SynTex seating. Tech-focused drivers benefit from the upgraded 10.25-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation and a wireless smartphone charging pad. It also includes essential GCC comforts like rear air conditioning vents and front and rear parking sensors that are often absent on entry-level models.

K5 vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima are common sights, the K5 EX leads with a more modern, driver-centric cabin and a superior standard tech suite for the price point. It offers a larger standard infotainment display than many comparable Camry trims and a more striking fastback silhouette. Additionally, Kia's extensive service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts and maintenance are more accessible than for newer Chinese entrants.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel efficiency for the 2.0L engine sits at approximately 7.6 L/100km, performing efficiently during long-distance highway commutes between emirates. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains higher value and enjoys full compatibility with local authorized service centers compared to non-regional imports. Kia’s growing brand equity in the region has stabilized depreciation, making the K5 a safer financial bet than many of its European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 155 hp output from the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine provides predictable, linear power delivery ideal for urban navigation and steady highway cruising. It features selectable Drive Mode Select (Normal, Sport, Smart), allowing the driver to calibrate the steering and throttle response for different conditions. This front-wheel-drive sedan is engineered for the heat, maintaining consistent performance even during the peak summer months.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the K5 EX focuses on premium materials and passenger climate, featuring dedicated rear AC vents to ensure the cabin cools rapidly in 45°C+ temperatures. The panoramic sunroof creates an airy, spacious feel, while the 10.25-inch display serves as a high-tech command center with seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Acoustic glass in the front windshield helps minimize road noise, providing a quiet environment for long-distance desert drives.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring Electronic Stability Control and an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) essential for maintaining traction on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. It comes equipped with front and rear parking sensors and a high-resolution rear-view camera to simplify maneuvering in tight city spaces. The inclusion of Tire Pressure Monitoring is particularly valuable in the GCC, where extreme heat causes significant fluctuations in tire pressure.

The bottom line

This K5 EX is the perfect match for a professional or small family seeking a stylish, low-mileage sedan that doesn't compromise on modern tech or GCC-specific comforts. It represents a smart opportunity to own a late-model, high-spec vehicle with a proven service history and the region's best resale color.
