Summary

This 2022 Lexus IS350 F Sport Platinum is a standout executive sedan, offering the rare combination of a naturally aspirated V6 and the highest available equipment level in the GCC. While rivals have moved to smaller turbocharged engines, this Lexus retains the linear power and mechanical reliability that regional buyers prioritize for high-speed highway commuting. The F Sport Platinum trim bridges the gap between a daily commuter and a performance car, featuring aggressive styling without sacrificing the legendary cabin insulation Lexus is known for. With its proven durability in extreme desert heat and a robust service network across the UAE, it remains one of the most sensible yet emotionally engaging luxury purchases in the market.

This Car vs Other 2022 IS350s

At 152,000 km, this vehicle has been utilized primarily for the long-distance highway driving typical of GCC commutes. While the mileage is higher than average for a 2022 model, these naturally aspirated V6 engines are engineered for high-mileage longevity, often outlasting turbocharged competitors. The Tan exterior is a neutral, high-resale choice for the region, reflecting heat effectively during the summer months.

F SPORT PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is the top-tier specification in the GCC, adding essential luxury features not found on the standard F Sport. This includes the immersive 17-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound system and ventilated front seats, which are indispensable for maintaining comfort during the peak of the Gulf summer. It also features the larger 10.3-inch infotainment display with integrated navigation and a 360-degree camera system for easier urban parking.

IS350 vs Segment Rivals

The Lexus IS350 distinguishes itself from the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 by sticking to a 3.5L V6 architecture, offering a smoother and more predictable power delivery than its four-cylinder turbo rivals. In the GCC market, the Lexus holds a significant advantage in long-term maintenance costs and cooling system performance. Its reputation for holding value over a five-year period consistently outperforms European competitors in the local used market.

Running Costs & Resale

The IS350 returns a combined fuel economy of approximately 10.7 L/100km, which is efficient for a V6 during highway cruising between emirates. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Lexus models enjoy some of the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury segment, making this a financially safer choice for those planning to resell in 2-3 years.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L V6 produces 311 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.0 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h. On the road, this translates to effortless overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. The F Sport tuned suspension offers selectable drive modes, allowing the driver to sharpen throttle response and steering weight for a more engaging experience through winding roads or during spirited evening drives.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 5-seat environment designed with high-quality materials and F Sport bolstered seating that provides excellent support on longer journeys. Dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats ensure rapid cabin cooling even after the car has been parked in direct sun. Advanced sound deadening and acoustic glass keep the interior remarkably quiet, isolating passengers from road and wind noise at cruising speeds.

Safety

The 2022 IS350 comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, featuring Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. These systems are particularly valuable for GCC highway driving, providing an extra layer of protection during heavy traffic. Additional features like Lane Tracing Assist and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert make navigating multi-lane urban roads significantly safer.

The bottom line

This IS350 F Sport Platinum is the ideal choice for a professional who needs a reliable, high-spec daily driver that holds its value better than any European rival. It offers the peak Lexus luxury experience with a mechanical package built to handle the GCC climate for years to come.
