Summary

This 2022 Lexus NX 350h represents the first model year of the highly sought-after second generation, offering a massive leap in technology and efficiency over its predecessor. With only 36,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the 50,000–60,000 km typical for a two-year-old car in the GCC, preserving its mechanical longevity. The Grey exterior is a high-demand, high-resale color in the local market, blending perfectly into professional and city environments. As an Executive trim, it bridges the gap between daily practicality and high-end luxury, making it a standout choice for those who prioritize cabin refinement without the fuel costs of a traditional SUV.

This Car vs Other 2022 NX 350hs

With just 36,000 km on the odometer, this NX 350h sits well below the average UAE annual usage of 20,000–25,000 km, effectively offering the wear and tear of a much newer vehicle. The Grey finish is one of the most stable colors for value retention in the GCC, performing significantly better at resale than bolder or non-metallic options. Being a Canadian spec, it includes cold-weather features like a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats that are often omitted from regional GCC builds.

HYBRID EXECUTIVE vs Lower Trims

The Executive trim is a significant upgrade over the Luxury and Ultra Luxury packages, most notably adding the flagship 17-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system. It also introduces 20-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, a head-up display, and power-folding 60/40 rear seats, providing a level of convenience and acoustic quality that standard trims cannot match. Ventilated front seats are included as standard, a critical feature for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer months.

NX 350h vs Segment Rivals

The NX 350h leads its segment in real-world efficiency, comfortably outperforming the BMW X3 xDrive30i and Audi Q5 in stop-start city traffic where its hybrid system shines. While German rivals often require premium high-octane fuel, the NX is engineered for efficiency and reliability, backed by the largest authorized service network in the region via Lexus and Toyota centers. Its cabin insulation and air conditioning performance are specifically tuned to handle high-ambient temperatures better than many European counterparts.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel costs are exceptionally low for an AWD SUV, with a rated combined consumption of 6.0 L/100km, which translates to massive savings during long commutes between Emirates. Lexus remains the gold standard for value retention in the GCC, typically losing only 8–10% annually compared to the 15%+ seen in the luxury European segment. While this is a Canadian spec vehicle, parts are 95% interchangeable with GCC models, and specialized hybrid service centers are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain delivers a combined 240 horsepower, providing smooth and linear acceleration that is ideal for highway overtaking and city merging. The All-Wheel Drive system is electronic, using a dedicated rear motor to provide instant traction on sandy or rain-slicked roads without the weight of a traditional driveshaft. It offers a refined driving experience with multiple modes (EV, Eco, Normal, Sport) that allow you to prioritize silent electric cruising or sharper throttle response when needed.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a focused 'Tazuna' cockpit, featuring a large touchscreen interface and high-quality leather upholstery. The Executive trim ensures all passengers stay comfortable with dual-zone climate control, rear air vents, and heated rear seats for cooler desert winter nights. Acoustic glass helps maintain a whisper-quiet cabin even at highway speeds, shielding occupants from road noise and the intense exterior heat common in the region.

Safety

Equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, this trim includes advanced ADAS features such as Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Intersection Support, which is invaluable in dense urban traffic. It also features All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist, making long desert highway drives significantly less fatiguing. The 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor and Blind Spot Monitor are standard, providing essential visibility for navigating tight parking spaces and fast-moving multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

This low-mileage, high-spec Executive hybrid is the ideal purchase for a UAE professional seeking Lexus reliability and class-leading fuel economy without the wait times of a new vehicle.
