Summary

This GCC-spec Lexus LX570 Premier represents the peak of Japanese luxury engineering, offering a level of durability that few European rivals can match in the desert heat. While its mileage is typical for a 2016 model in the GCC, these vehicles are legendary for their million-kilometer potential if serviced correctly. The Grey exterior is a highly sensible choice for the region, masking dust well and maintaining strong resale demand compared to bolder colors. As the first year of the significant 2016 facelift, this model enjoys the modern spindle-grille styling and the improved 8-speed transmission. It remains the default choice for families who need a bulletproof daily driver that can transition seamlessly into a weekend dune explorer.

This Car vs Other 2016 LX570s

With 280,000 km, this LX570 sits right at the average for a high-utility GCC vehicle, which typically clocks 35,000–40,000 km annually. The Grey exterior is one of the top three most requested colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly aiding value retention. Unlike imported American-spec models, this GCC-spec unit is optimized with heavy-duty cooling systems specifically designed for extreme summer temperatures.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim serves as the sophisticated entry into the facelifted LX range, but it is anything but 'base.' It features the essential 12.3-inch high-resolution multimedia display and the 8-speed automatic transmission that lower-spec pre-facelift units lack. It provides the core Lexus luxury experience, including ventilated front seats and a power-folding third row, without the added complexity of some of the higher-tier electronic 'Plus' or 'Platinum' packages.

LX570 vs Segment Rivals

The LX570 stands apart from the Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS by utilizing a rugged body-on-frame construction shared with the Toyota Land Cruiser. Its massive 138-litre dual fuel tank system is a critical advantage for long-distance highway hauls between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. While rivals might offer more complex tech, the Lexus leads in long-term reliability and the sheer power of its GCC-optimized air conditioning.

Running Costs & Resale

The naturally aspirated 5.7L V8 typically averages 14.5 to 16.0 L/100km in mixed GCC conditions, though stop-start city traffic can push this higher. It is engineered to run reliably on widely available 95 or 98-octane fuel across the region. Lexus enjoys the strongest resale value in the GCC luxury segment, typically depreciating at just 8–10% annually compared to 15%+ for European equivalents. Service support is unmatched, with authorized centers and spare parts available in every major city from Kuwait to Oman.

Performance & Capability

The 381 hp V8 provides a smooth, linear power delivery that is ideal for both highway overtaking and low-speed desert crawling. Equipped with a Torsen limited-slip center differential and a dedicated low-range transfer case, this SUV is a genuine off-roader. The Multi-Terrain Select system allows the driver to optimize traction for sand, rock, or gravel, while the hydraulic height-adjustable suspension provides up to 226 mm of ground clearance for navigating deep dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is an 8-seat sanctuary insulated with acoustic glass to keep the desert heat and road noise at bay. The four-zone climate control is widely considered the best in its class, capable of cooling the massive interior in minutes even after a day in the sun. Practicality is a highlight, with a power-split tailgate and second-row seats that slide and recline to provide ample legroom for adult passengers during long family road trips.

Safety

The 2016 LX570 comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including 10 airbags and Lexus Safety System+. Key features for GCC highways include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The vehicle also features Trailer Sway Control and Multi-terrain ABS, ensuring stability on both paved roads and unstable sand or gravel surfaces.

The bottom line

This LX570 is the perfect match for a GCC family looking for a prestigious, high-capacity SUV that offers total peace of mind and legendary resale security. It is a rare opportunity to own a modern-look Lexus flagship that has been built specifically to conquer the local environment.
