Summary

This 2022 Ghibli GT represents a modern shift for the Trident, blending Italian soul with a mild-hybrid system that is perfectly suited for daily use in the UAE. With just over 33,000 km, this sedan has significantly lower mileage than the typical 25,000 km per year average seen on regional highways. The grey exterior is a highly resilient choice for the GCC, maintaining its appearance against dust while securing strong resale potential in the local market. Compared to its V6 siblings, this GT trim offers a more balanced approach to efficiency without losing the signature Maserati engine character and exhaust note. For a buyer in the Emirates or wider GCC, this is an opportunity to own a contemporary Italian grand tourer that is still well within its prime mechanical window.

This Car vs Other 2022 Maserati Ghiblis

At 33,345 km, this vehicle is significantly below the average mileage for a 2022 model in the GCC, where long-distance commuting between cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai often results in much higher odometer readings. This lower usage translates to less wear on the suspension and interior materials, which can be sensitive to the intense local heat. The grey finish is one of the most practical and sought-after colors in the regional used market, ensuring better value retention than more niche shades.

GT vs Lower Trims

The GT trim serves as the sophisticated entry point into the revised 2022 lineup, introducing the 48V mild-hybrid system that isn't found on older base models. It standardizes key GCC essentials like the improved 10.1-inch Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) and a surround-view 360 camera, which are often optional extras on lower-spec European imports. Furthermore, this trim includes the specific GT badging and the updated Maserati logo on the C-pillar, identifying it as part of the brand's modern era.

Ghibli vs Segment Rivals

While the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class are common sights on UAE roads, the Ghibli offers a level of exclusivity and Italian design flair they cannot match. It stands out in the segment with a 80-litre fuel tank, providing superior highway range for long-distance drives across the borders to Oman or Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the Ghibli provides one of the largest front legroom measurements in its class, ensuring high comfort during heavy stop-start traffic in Dubai or Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

The hybrid powertrain is designed to reduce fuel consumption in city traffic, with a combined official figure of approximately 7.5L/100km, making it one of the most efficient Maseratis ever sold in the region. Maintenance in the UAE is well-supported by Al Tayer Motors, with recommended service intervals at 15,000 km or 12 months, which is standard for high-performance European sedans. While Maserati traditionally depreciates faster than Japanese luxury brands, the GCC-spec status and low mileage of this specific unit help maintain a stronger price floor compared to American-spec alternatives.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine works in tandem with an electric eBooster and a 48V starter-generator to deliver 330 hp and a top speed of 255 km/h. This setup eliminates turbo lag, providing immediate torque that is particularly useful for overtaking on fast-moving UAE motorways like E11. Despite being a hybrid, the rear-wheel-drive chassis and limited-slip differential ensure it retains the agile, driver-focused handling Maserati is famous for.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around the high-resolution 10.1-inch touchscreen, which features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation through local cities. Standard leather upholstery is paired with dual-zone climate control and rear ventilation ducts to ensure all five passengers stay cool during the peak of the GCC summer. A notable regional highlight is the refrigerated center console, perfect for keeping drinks cold during long desert highway stints.

Safety

This GT trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including full-speed adaptive cruise control, which is indispensable for long-distance highway driving. It also features blind-spot intervention and autonomous emergency braking to handle the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic environments typical of major GCC metropolitan areas. The 360-degree surround-view camera makes maneuvering this nearly 5-meter sedan into tight mall parking spaces effortless.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Ghibli GT is the ideal choice for a professional looking for Italian exclusivity with the reliability of low mileage and a modern, efficient hybrid powertrain.
