Summary

This 2022 CLS450 4MATIC is a refined executive choice for the GCC market, offering the perfect balance between the sporty silhouette of a coupe and the luxury of a sedan. With its mileage sitting at a healthy 61,000 km, it represents a well-maintained example typically used for inter-emirate highway commuting. The gold exterior provides a unique, high-end presence that holds its appeal well in the regional used market. As a GCC-spec model, it features the cooling and filtration systems necessary for the local climate, ensuring long-term mechanical health. For the buyer seeking a blend of performance and prestige, this 4MATIC variant delivers confidence in all driving conditions.

This Car vs Other 2022 CLS450s

With 61,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, suggesting it has been used moderately since new. Being a GCC-spec unit, it carries a value premium over imported American or European models, primarily due to its cooling efficiency and valid service history at local authorized centers. The unique gold finish offers a distinctive alternative to the common silver and white palettes found across the region.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

As the primary trim for the 2022 model year, this 4MATIC version comes standard with the AMG Line exterior styling, providing a more aggressive road presence than previous entry-level models. It features the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a secondary 12.3-inch MBUX touchscreen as standard equipment. Additionally, the 48V EQ Boost system provides seamless stop-start functionality and an extra torque surge that lower-displacement or older non-hybrid trims lack.

CLS450 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Audi A7 and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, the CLS450 leads in cabin refinement and the smoothness of its inline-six powertrain. Its 80-litre fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance desert drives, offering superior range compared to some smaller-tanked rivals in the executive class. The MBUX interface remains one of the most intuitive systems for managing navigation across the UAE's evolving road networks.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 9.8 L/100km, which is efficient for a six-cylinder sedan during highway cruising between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km, with major services occurring at the 60,000 km mark—an important milestone this vehicle has just reached. Authorized service centers are widely available across all major GCC cities, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre inline-six engine produces a verified 362 hp, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.8 seconds. This performance is ideal for confident highway overtaking on fast-moving UAE roads. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures maximum traction during rare rain events or on wind-blown sandy surfaces, while the 9G-TRONIC transmission keeps revs low for quiet, high-speed cruising.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features standard leather upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control designed to handle extreme summer heat. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary even at high highway speeds. The 64-color ambient lighting system allows for total personalization, enhancing the premium feel during evening drives across the city.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist, which are vital for the multi-lane highway environments of the GCC. The Pre-Safe system prepares the cabin for potential impacts, and the 360-degree camera provides effortless parking in tight urban spaces. Standard LED High Performance headlamps ensure excellent visibility during night drives on unlit desert roads.

The bottom line

For the executive driver who values design and regional reliability, this GCC-spec CLS450 offers a distinctive look and verified performance in a market-ready package.
