Summary

This GCC-spec G63 AMG offers the ultimate blend of street presence and mechanical capability that has made the G-Wagon a regional icon. With its hand-built V8 delivering 585 hp, it provides effortless performance for both highway cruising and weekend adventures. The grey exterior is a sophisticated, high-demand choice in the GCC, offering strong resale appeal compared to more niche colors. Having covered 95,707 km over four years, this vehicle sits at a strategic entry point for buyers looking for a modern W463A generation model. For any serious GCC buyer, the triple-locking differentials and specialized cooling systems remain the gold standard for enduring the local climate and terrain.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

With 95,707 km on the odometer, this vehicle’s usage aligns with the typical GCC highway-heavy driving pattern of approximately 24,000 km per year. While many G-Wagons in this segment are kept as low-mileage garage queens, this example offers a more accessible entry into the 2022 model year without sacrificing the updated interior tech. The grey finish is a highly liquid asset in the UAE and Saudi markets, consistently ranking just behind white and black for ease of resale.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG G63 sits at the top of the G-Class hierarchy, adding the handcrafted biturbo V8 and the specialized AMG Speedshift 9-speed transmission over the standard G550. This trim includes the essential GCC comforts as standard, such as ventilated Nappa leather seats and a 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system. It also features the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, allowing you to toggle between soft damping for city streets and firmer control for high-speed highway runs.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Lamborghini Urus focus strictly on tarmac speed, the G63 retains its heavy-duty ladder-frame chassis and three independent locking differentials for genuine off-road utility. Compared to the Range Rover Autobiography, the Mercedes offers a more visceral engine character and historically superior resale value stability across the peninsula. Its boxy silhouette also provides a higher command driving position that many GCC drivers prefer for navigating multi-lane highway traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 4.0L V8 typically averages between 14-16 L/100km, making the 100-litre fuel tank a vital feature for long-distance trips between emirates. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a dense network of authorized Mercedes-Benz service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts availability and service continuity. Historically, the G63 AMG boasts one of the lowest depreciation rates in the luxury SUV segment, typically retaining significant value even after 100,000 km.

Performance & Capability

The headline 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds is remarkable for a vehicle weighing over 2.5 tons, ensuring you never lack overtaking power on the E11 or E311 highways. Its off-road hardware is legitimate, featuring a low-range transfer case and three locking differentials that allow it to traverse soft sand and rocky wadis with ease. Even at its electronically limited top speed of 220 km/h, the G63 remains composed thanks to its permanent all-wheel-drive system and wide-track suspension.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of luxury designed for the harsh GCC summers, featuring powerful multi-zone climate control and ventilated front seats as standard. The dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit displays provide clear visibility even in high-glare desert sun, integrating navigation and MBUX infotainment seamlessly. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated AC vents and ample headroom, making it a viable luxury family transport for long cross-border road trips.

Safety

This G63 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and a 360° camera system that is essential for maneuvering its large footprint in tight city parking. The standard adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist significantly reduce driver fatigue during long desert highway stretches. With 10 airbags and a reinforced steel frame, it provides world-class occupant protection that few SUVs in this class can match.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec G63 is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the prestige of a modern G-Wagon with a mileage profile that reflects honest, reliable highway use. It represents a balanced opportunity to own a high-spec 2022 model that is perfectly prepared for the local climate and driving conditions.
