Summary

This 2022 Mercedes-AMG G63 is a standout in the GCC market, offering the iconic blend of sheer presence and mechanical dominance. With mileage that is well below the regional annual average for high-end SUVs, this black-on-black example retains high resale potential, a trait the G-Wagon is legendary for in the Middle East. It represents the pinnacle of the modern G-Class, featuring the refined independent front suspension that transformed its on-road handling without compromising its desert credentials. For a buyer in the UAE or across the GCC, this remains the definitive statement vehicle that balances daily luxury with unmatched durability. Ownership is supported by an extensive regional service network, ensuring peace of mind throughout the Emirates and beyond.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

With just 44,564 km on the odometer, this G63 has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The exterior black finish is the most sought-after color for resale in the local market, offering a liquid-asset quality to the purchase. Its GCC specification ensures that the cooling systems and electronics are fully optimized for the extreme local climate.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The AMG G63 moves far beyond the standard G550 by introducing the hand-assembled 4.0L V8 and the specialized AMG Ride Control suspension. This trim adds the iconic side-exit exhaust system and a more aggressive body kit that are essential for the G-Wagon’s visual impact. Inside, it features the Nappa leather AMG Performance steering wheel and the high-resolution 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit as standard.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

While the Lamborghini Urus and Range Rover SVR offer high-speed competition, the G63 leads with its heavy-duty body-on-frame construction and triple-locking differentials for genuine off-road capability. Its 100-liter fuel tank is a major advantage for long-distance highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. The G-Class also commands higher residual values than almost any other performance SUV in the GCC market.

Running Costs & Resale

The G63 is a high-performance machine that requires 98-octane fuel to feed its twin-turbo V8, with combined fuel consumption officially rated at 13.2L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km, and Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks across all GCC nations. Historically, the G63 experiences much lower depreciation than its European rivals, often retaining up to 80% of its value after three years in the UAE.

Performance & Capability

Generating 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, this SUV launches from 0–100 km/h in a staggering 4.5 seconds. The 9-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and permanent all-wheel drive provide effortless overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. For weekend adventures, its 241 mm of ground clearance and selectable low-range gearing make it one of the few luxury vehicles truly capable of traversing deep desert dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a sanctuary from the heat, equipped with high-output tri-zone climate control and ventilated front seats standard. The Burmester surround-sound system provides acoustic clarity even against the signature V8 exhaust note, while the 64-color ambient lighting allows for personalized interior moods. Acoustic glass and thick insulation ensure the cabin remains quiet during long cross-country drives across the Emirates.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a full suite of ADAS features, including Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Assist which is vital for multi-lane highway traffic. The 360° camera system provides essential visibility for parking a vehicle of this size in tight urban spaces. Adaptive Cruise Control (Distronic) comes standard, significantly reducing driver fatigue on long desert stretches.

The bottom line

This is a low-mileage, GCC-spec icon in the region's most desirable color, offering a rare combination of immediate performance and long-term value retention for the serious enthusiast.
