Summary

This GCC-spec G63 AMG stands as the definitive performance SUV for the region, balancing iconic presence with a hand-assembled powertrain that thrives in local conditions. Finished in white—a high-demand resale color in the GCC—this vehicle offers a robust ownership case with mileage that sits comfortably within the expected range for its age. The 2022 model year benefits from the latest digital cockpit updates while retaining the triple-locking differentials that make the G-Class a legitimate off-road powerhouse. For a buyer in the UAE or wider Gulf, this provides the perfect blend of a daily status symbol and a long-distance cruiser capable of effortless highway overtaking. It remains the segment leader for those seeking unmatched prestige and mechanical durability in extreme heat.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

With 38,000 km on the odometer, this example has been driven roughly 19,000 km per year, which is below the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. The white exterior is the strongest resale color in the local market, ensuring it attracts a premium at trade-in compared to more niche shades. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it features the cooling systems and AC compressors specifically tuned for Gulf summers, unlike imported North American or European models.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The G63 AMG is a significant step above the G500, introducing the hand-built M177 biturbo V8 and the AMG Speedshift 9G-Tronic transmission. This trim includes the AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension and a 360° camera system as standard, which are essential for navigating both tight city parking and technical off-road trails. It also features the upgraded Burmester surround-sound system and the AMG-specific Performance exhaust, providing the signature acoustic experience GCC buyers expect.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

While the Range Rover Autobiography and Lamborghini Urus offer luxury and speed, the G63 leads with its rugged body-on-frame construction and three mechanical locking differentials. Its 100-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long-distance desert drives or cross-border travel between the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the G63's upright design offers better visibility and headroom than the more raked profiles of its Italian and British competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages 13.1 L/100km on combined cycles, though city driving in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic will see higher figures. The G63 AMG holds its value exceptionally well in the GCC, typically depreciating slower than most European luxury SUVs due to its iconic status. Mercedes-Benz maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert maintenance are always accessible. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or 12 months, alternating between minor and major checks.

Performance & Capability

The hand-built 4.0L V8 delivers a verified 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 4.5 seconds. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system is paired with a two-speed transfer case, providing genuine low-range capability for weekend desert excursions. AMG Dynamic Select offers specific Sand, Trail, and Rock modes, allowing the vehicle to adjust its damping and throttle response for GCC-specific terrains. On the highway, the massive torque ensures effortless acceleration even when fully loaded for family road trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features the dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit and multi-zone climate control designed to maintain cabin temperatures even in 45°C+ heat. Ventilated front seats come standard on this trim, providing essential comfort during the long Gulf summer months. The cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to minimize wind noise during high-speed highway cruising, while the 64-color ambient lighting allows for a personalized interior atmosphere.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, which is highly effective for long desert highway drives. It also features Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist to manage fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The 360° camera and Parktronic sensors assist in maneuvering the vehicle's boxy dimensions in tight urban environments, while the robust frame provides high levels of passive protection.

The bottom line

This G63 AMG is the ideal choice for a GCC buyer who wants a low-mileage, high-resale-spec icon that is mechanically prepared for the region's climate.
