Summary

This 2022 Montero Sport GLS Premium is a standout choice for GCC families, offering the perfect balance of mechanical durability and modern safety features. With mileage well under the regional expected average for a four-year-old vehicle, it remains in its prime for both city commuting and cross-country expeditions. The GLS Premium trim is highly sought after in the used market for its safety suite, including blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, which are essential for navigating fast-moving UAE and Saudi highways. Mitsubishi's reputation for heat resilience and the strength of its service network across every GCC state make this one of the safest long-term investments in the SUV segment. Its Grey exterior is a versatile, professional choice that holds value well by masking desert dust while maintaining a modern aesthetic.

This Car vs Other 2022 Montero Sports

At 79,845 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 20,000 km per year, which sits comfortably below the typical GCC average of 25,000 km for a family SUV. This usage pattern indicates a car that has seen regular highway duty rather than high-stress urban crawling. The Grey metallic finish is a strong resale performer in the region, offering a sophisticated alternative to white while efficiently reflecting the intense summer heat.

GLS PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The GLS Premium is the flagship specification, adding critical technology that standard GLS models lack. Most notably, it features the full ADAS suite with Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control, making long drives between Emirates significantly safer. Inside, you get the upgraded 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a power-adjustable driver’s seat, elevating the cabin experience to a more executive level.

Montero Sport vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X, the Montero Sport leads with its sophisticated Super Select 4WD-II system, which allows for high-speed four-wheel drive on paved surfaces—a major advantage during the GCC's rare but hazardous rain showers. Its 8-speed automatic transmission provides smoother highway cruising than the 6-speed units found in several competitors, while the 70-litre fuel tank ensures ample range for desert exploration.

Running Costs & Resale

Mitsubishi maintains one of the densest service networks in the GCC, with authorised centers in almost every major city from Dubai to Muscat. The 3.0L V6 is a proven, naturally aspirated engine designed to run reliably on local fuel grades with minimal specialized maintenance. This model follows a steady depreciation curve of roughly 10-12% annually, significantly outperforming European rivals and remaining highly liquid in the local used market due to its body-on-frame durability.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L V6 engine delivers a smooth 215 hp, specifically tuned for the high-ambient temperatures of the Middle East. Its defining feature is the Super Select 4WD-II dial, which provides genuine low-range gearing for soft sand driving in the dunes and a locking rear differential for technical terrain. With a 218 mm ground clearance, it easily clears the obstacles that would stop a monocoque crossover, making it a true weekend adventurer.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed for the GCC family lifestyle, featuring a dedicated rear climate control system with roof-mounted vents to ensure the third row stays cool even in 45°C summers. Leather-trimmed seating and a power-tilt sunroof provide a premium feel, while the 8-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio system offers seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Extensive cabin insulation keeps road noise to a minimum during high-speed highway transit.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety package tailored for regional driving conditions. The Forward Collision Mitigation system provides an extra layer of protection in stop-start city traffic, while the Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are invaluable for lane changes on busy multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. Seven SRS airbags come standard, ensuring full occupant protection across all three rows.

The bottom line

Perfect for the active GCC family who needs a rugged, desert-capable 4x4 during the weekend but demands modern safety and comfort for the daily school run. This specific listing offers the top-tier Premium spec with a well-maintained mileage profile, representing a high-value entry into the Mitsubishi SUV family.
