• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This specific Outlander represents a balanced choice for GCC families, offering the rare combination of seven-seat capacity and all-wheel-drive stability in a compact SUV frame. As a Highline trim with leather, it steps above the utilitarian base models to offer a more refined cabin environment that holds up well against the region’s intense summer heat. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice in the local market, ensuring it stays relevant for future resale across the Emirates. Mitsubishi’s reputation for mechanical durability makes this an ideal pick for those who need a dependable daily commuter that can handle both heavy city traffic and occasional weekend excursions. With its GCC-specific cooling and robust 2.4L engine, it remains one of the most practical entry points into three-row SUV ownership.

This Car vs Other 2022 Outlanders

With 90,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits within the average mileage range for a four-year-old SUV in the GCC, where long-distance highway commutes between cities are standard. The grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, offering better heat management than darker shades while maintaining stronger resale appeal than niche colors. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the factory-upgraded cooling systems essential for maintaining performance during peak summer months.

GLX HIGHLINE LEATHER vs Lower Trims

The GLX Highline Leather trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base GLX by replacing fabric upholstery with premium leather-appointed seating, which is easier to maintain in a family environment. It typically includes enhanced cabin technology such as a larger infotainment screen and a multi-view camera system that aren't found on the entry-level variants. These additions, combined with the 18-inch alloy wheels, provide a more executive look and feel that local buyers prioritize.

Outlander vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V, the Outlander leads by offering a third row of seats, making it a viable family hauler where competitors are strictly five-seaters. While the Nissan X-Trail also offers seven seats, the Outlander is often favored for its straightforward mechanical layout and the legendary reliability of its 2.4L MIVEC engine. Its All-Wheel Control (AWC) system provides more confident handling on rain-slicked tarmac or light gravel paths than front-wheel-drive-only competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.4L engine is optimized for 95-octane fuel and delivers a balanced fuel consumption profile of approximately 9.0L to 10.0L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the widest authorized service networks spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, which keeps maintenance costs predictable. Mitsubishi vehicles in this segment generally retain about 80-85% of their value over the first three years, performing better than many European or American rivals in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The 170 hp output from the 2.4L engine is delivered through a smooth automatic transmission, providing steady power for highway overtaking and effortless city cruising. Equipped with All-Wheel Drive, this SUV offers superior traction in the sudden rainstorms or sand-covered roads common in the region. While not a heavy-duty off-roader, its respectable ground clearance makes it perfectly capable of handling beach trips or gravel tracks for weekend camping.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring a flexible 50/50 split-folding third row and a slide-and-recline second row to maximize legroom. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for the Middle East, featuring dedicated rear vents to ensure all seven passengers remain cool during 45°C+ summer days. Leather surfaces and soft-touch materials throughout the Highline trim provide a premium touch that reduces road noise and enhances long-distance comfort on cross-border drives.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a suite of active systems including Stability Control, Traction Control, and Anti-lock Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. This Highline trim often includes additional safety tech such as blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert, which are invaluable for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane highways of Dubai and Riyadh. Multiple airbags and a reinforced body structure provide peace of mind for family transport.

The bottom line

This Outlander is the perfect match for a growing family that needs seven seats and GCC-proven reliability without the high running costs of a full-sized 4x4.
